  1. do we have a shutout yet this year? did i just jinx us?
  2. i'll be trying to find those sections when my daughter is old enough to go to a game, too. maybe i'll see you and your daughter there. neat.
  3. i'm no mlb pitcher, and i like the idea presented here... but i think this is an easier said than done situation.
  4. congrats, Manny. can't you feel him starting to gain confidence and presence on the hill? i like what i see. nicely done, Seth. these are the kind of games we need to win as the season progresses. start to turn the tide on things like playing horribly @ PNC in the past... the typical brewer fade in the last few months... and by the way, is anyone else disturbed by the miller lite blind guy commercial? i am.
  5. Yeah, we have enough Yost bashing threads already. Couldn't the condescending toward others rule be applied to Brewer personnel for at least in-game threads? I don't mean to complain, com'on guys, disagree if with him if you want, but can't we have at least 3 hours where we don't just flat out call Yost names. this is funny to me. imagine sitting at a live baseball game and not hearing any derogatory language toward anyone on the field. this is the next best thing to being at a game (thank you BF.net guys) so relax and enjoy the passion and intensity of sport, though it may not always be on the positive side. cmon seth.
  6. he had to get back to the dugout. the iron for his skirt was warm and ready. yost is USELESS.
  7. cheers to that. living in chicago is fun when the pack and crew are kicking the crapola out of the bears and cubs. i keep reminding my friends from chi that we have their number this year and haven't even played at miller yet. and they are lucky we don't play 20 because we would win 18! ok, a little drunk when i mouth farted that one. but it IS very interesting to look at the SOS right now and look ahead to who plays who. to be honest, our schedule looks pretty tough for may and june for some reason. maybe it's the way this team has been playing. bleh.
  8. couldn't agree more on almost everything here. this is exactly what i've been thinking since opening day. well said. the only thing i may slightly disagree on... -we will cherish cameron's d many times in the next 4 months. enjoy his HR's and try to ignore his K's if you are able... the guy cleaning the clubhouse will, too. (pared back long quote --1992)
  9. well he did have the game winning hit against St. Louis not long ago true. and now it seems as if he is one of the few guys coming through when it counts. nice RW.
  10. if the sox don't score this inning this game is the brewers to take. they've had their chances to put us away. always happens to us, doesn't it seem? why not turn the tables today...
  11. look at it this way: thanks to multi-millionaire jeff suppan we get to see what this team is made of today. thanks, jeff. thanks a ton. puke.
  12. it's refreshing to hear braun's parents - both of them - say "i hope he stays grounded." meanwhile, prince's parent does not have great parenting skills. hopefully prince will learn from guys like braun, as strange as that sounds. prince needs to start producing. now.
  13. counsell will lead off with a hit and kapler will go yard to tie it. extras and brewers somehow win it in 11. book. it.
  14. ned can't even defend his players (already lost his groove, already stoppage, didn't matter at that point) without some of you getting on him. highlarious.
  15. hall should just chalk up the stirkeout and grab his glove now. this is gonna be ugly.
  16. spoken like a true cubs fan. love the optimism. (edit: code fix --1992)
  17. punished enough already? no way. the guy's ego is still large and in charge. the day he admits he did ANYTHING wrong in his life is the day he is finally punished. congress should be protecting the youth of this country, whether that's eliminating guns from the hands of criminals or punishing "idols" who use illegal, poisonous drugs and lie because of it. though, i guess they could sit on their hands and not go after him and just wait until his testicles shrivel, his head dents in and his hands look like golum's. but that may be too late, allowing more kids to think taking steroids is cool and acceptable. (i could have said "until his testicles look like golum's testicles" but i thought that too harsh.)
  18. Bet he will be according to ESPN. no to the first bit of this. that doesn't make him a great closer, but provides a top notch environment to see if he can handle closer pressure, as opposed to Minute Made or even Miller. and yes, ESPN will start talking about an October MIL vs BOS series with Gagne saving games 2,3, 6 and 7. neat.
  19. agreed. and if this is the case, could the NL Central have gone from the weakest division in baseball to the strongest in the matter of one season?
