  1. well if it ever happens, it will be interesting to watch the progress of the idea unfold. maybe then the WORLD series would actaully mean, well, just that. until then i will still refer to it as The Series.
  2. nice to have the security of Kapler in for Cameron. we don't miss a beat with him in there. "if you're at the stadium tonight and hear some weird clicking sound coming from the field...don't worry it's just Liz's shoulder blade." either that or the all-star votes racking up for one Russel Branyan!!!
  3. puke. linebrink kills us again. and my least favorite player in mlb wins it. acting like they won the world series. sheesh. cards will lose. we will keep rolling. quietly creeping up. stealth. shock and awe.
  4. good point! my buddy works at the score with Stoney and when i met him for the first time i couldn't get a word in edgewise. he told me the brewers bullpen would stink this year - as much as he respects doug melvin - and all i could come back with was that ramirez was lazy. he didn't disagree.
  5. i was hoping a Sex And The City message board with this type of discussion would be created alongside the release of the film!!! more Nighties and Knighties discussion please. much more interesting to me, at least. go Crew! go W Sox!
  6. If so, who? For the last month my instincts have told me we will be buyers and go after Young or Maddux in SD. Is that still possible? Are we, in fact, buyers? I think we are. And I actually believe in Mark A. making a statement in the next month, especially considering the Cards injuries as of late. I hope he hopes we still have a shot at the WC. I mentioned two pitchers we could buy. Has that changed in the last few weeks to looking at a 2B or SS? Who is out there at those positions who could possibly help us at this point? (please move or eliminate thread if it's already out there... didn't think it was yet.)

  9. dave bush is simply, clearly just suffering from bad luck right now. sorry, had to. this brings up the mid-june question for our Brew Crew and fanbase... so are we officially BUYERS in the next month? (should this be a new "buyers or sellers?" thread or does one already exist?)
  10. spot on. captured the last two months to a "T" in my opinion. this could go under the clubhouse in disarray thread, too, couldn't it?
  11. what has been a somewhat disappointing season for most of us fans so far - be honest - we are in a really good position right now if you look at those standings. after all that's gone on with not getting production out of big money guys, an injury to gallardo, some very questionable managerial decisions and poor play on the road again (which is why today made me happy) i really like where the Brewers sit right now. i like it a lot better than being on top and having that added pressure. say what you will, but this may be the best place in the standings for this young team. may suit us better in the long run to be an attacker instead of a target. go Crew. let's win all three interleague series.
  12. You do know that blue means sarcasm right? he didn't but it was kind of cool to hear the logic behind it never happening! and he called me Kiki. at first i felt a little slighted but then i realized if i were actually Kiki the Celts would have called my mobile phone device at halftime in need of my skills.http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/cef35656958c83062f9bd93bacff1913083a514.jpg
  13. ha! he even referenced FOX News (which i mentioned in my earlier post... that he would be perfect on it) meaning to make fun of it... some are so blind. thanks for the link. i wonder what his thoughts were during the clemen's ordeal. i seem to remember him actually having something logical to say. so he seems really hot and really cold. really, really cold.
  14. The fellas over at "Fire Joe Morgan" have done quite a bit of work on Mr. Justice. Not saying he's necessarily wrong about the Brewers, but based on this small sample articles, I can't really take his claims seriously. good point. i think we're lucky to have resources like FJM to go to these days. i would trust them more than a number of "respected journalists" these days. whoever said he is ripe for TV hit the nail on the head. he would fit in well at FOX news, actually. even if he is considered a "respected journalist," those guys know how to stir the pot, too. if the team i covered needed a boost (kick in the arse) i would try to rile things up on one of the teams ahead of me, as well. whether the crew respects/likes yost or not i have a strong feeling they have one of the better clubhouse atmospheres in the league. sometimes you can just tell.
  15. probably won't matter too much. they are patient at the plate. know they are going to win. blah blah blah. but the best bit is that i heard soriano actually fractured his RING finger. a sign?
  16. why don't braun, sheets, hart & fielder all sign identical contracts. set an example for the rest of the league.
  17. Considering Fielder has already hit 50 home runs in a season, it's hard to argue that Hart has a higher ceiling as a hitter. But, I think Hart is a very valuable part of the puzzle that provided consistent hitting, solid defense, good speed, and great character. I'd imagine he's on our starting outfield for the next 7-8 years. the "good character" part of this excites me most, as it seems we have a number of those on the team. wouldn't it be nice if a bunch of humble, out of the spotlight guys on a small market team won the series? when is the last time that happened?
  18. the understatement but needed to be said award of the season so far.
  19. rluz the answer is yes. i am blown away right now by the "boys club" mentality and long leash that melvin is giving yost. therefore, i believe and hope that mark a. steps in as a great businessman and baseball fan and sacks ned yost ASAP. i really can't believe what i am witnessing as far as management of talent right now. if ownership looks at the quality of managing in their very own division (larussa, pinella MOST of the time), much less around the league they should be able to cut ties and upgrade at the manager position. unreal these people get paid this much to be selfish. boo on you, yost. boo on you.
  20. great holiday inn express reference. nicely done. as far as the feel thing... i think taking a pitch or two should override that notion. and don't look now, but soup's ERA is quietly 3.82. jinx? oops.
  21. after suppan draws a walk i must inquire... this is a question for those of you who have played a lot of baseball and coached or managed... i only played little league and a few years after... so i don't consider myself very baseball savvy... suppan's first at bat he swings at the first pitch. i am dumbfounded. if you are a pitcher would you not want to at least see a few pitches from the opposing pitcher to wear him out a bit no matter the score or situation? let him throw a few. tire him out a bit? should that be an unwritten rule for pitchers who are batting? wow. as i type this, joe d does it again. hilarious.
  22. is it too much to ask for a little killer instinct right now? instead of an overthinking, overmaneuvering (word? it is now.) manager deciding the outcome of this game will the players please step up and finish the job?
  23. the hardy dillon DP combo we've all dreamed of for years is about to rear its beautiful head(s).
  24. i could swear we were just 4 games over 500. and then Villy got pulled. i've been depressed since, on my couch with the curtains closed, listening to depressing music and eating sleeve after sleeve of girl scout cookies. please, help me snap out of this funk, joe dillon. (did i just ask JD to save me from depression? wow, we are desperate. prove me wrong Joe D!)
