  1. Not only is he a shortstop, he's pathetic offensively. .224/.266/.342 career away from Coors Field. I'd guess that this rumor is wrong.
  2. Wow... none of the above? I guess I don't see anything here that I'd pick over Jackson or Villanueva.
  3. [ I'd be interested in hearing personal opinions about the basic play and interface, and how impressed or unimpressed you all have been. ] I like the controls & interface a ton. When playing Wii sports, it's really nice (in every game but boxing) to be able to hold a drink in one hand, and the Wiimote in the other. When using the nunchuck, the play is very relaxed. You can position your left hand pretty much however you want, which sounds dumb, but provides for a very comfortable experience. I really can't think of much of a drawback for the controls, except for the occasional Wii Sports tennis elbow http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif [ I should probably play the heck out of Wii Sports for a while before buying more games, but I'm really curious about Madden (gameplay and new game options sound really fun with the new controls), Rayman (lots of mileage out of all the minigames?) and Second Opinion (performing surgeries, what's the deal, is it fun?). ] Haven't played Madden or Rayman, but Blockbuster does have games for rent, so maybe try that before you plop down 50 bucks. I bought Second Opinion on Friday and beat it on Sunday (easy level, of course). There are two more difficulty levels and bonus missions after you beat the game, so there's more for me to play... but it could be one of those games you rent as well... not beacuse it's not good, but because it's short. The game itself was really fun and used the controls in probably the best way I have seen them used. Zelda by far is one of the best games I've ever played, if not THE best. I'm not sure if it's your thing or not, but I can't say enough about it.
  4. [ Should have been more specific, I meant the memory card from the link above. ] Whoops, sorry. The deal mentioned above is pretty good. I think I was able to get a 4GB card for about $50 off eBay, so while it's a good deal, I think it's pretty on par.
  5. [ So the memory card is the same type I use in my camera, very cool. I do plan on getting Wii, is the price above good enough that I should purchase it now? Opinions? ] The Wii's already pretty cheap, and I don't anticipate a price drop anytime within the next year. If you can get your hands on one, I'd definitely pick it up ASAP.
  6. I just got Second Opinion tonight.... I did the first 3 surgeries, and it was pretty fun. I'm sure it'll get better as I get further into it...
  7. [ Now, unless you can predict the future, I suggest you back up your opinion with something. ] Isn't it weird that every jersey other than a Brewers jersey is like Kryptonite to Cirillo? I don't usually believe in jinxes, but Cirillo's a really weird guy, stat-wise. I honestly don't think he'd perform well outside of Milwaukee.
  8. ADMOBILE http://www.admobile.com/Images/4view.gif Hrm... let's add more pollution and traffic please with the added bonus of diverting peoples' attention from the roads even more.
  9. Carlin looks like a monster... Why didn't the Pirates promote him quicker and avoid losing him?... Does he have an injury problem or something?
  10. [ So renew it before we cancel it, or vice versa? ] Just renew it at your earliest convenience.
  11. Lieber would be a decent back-end of the rotation guy, but I would hope that the Brewers would at least get a little salary relief as well.
  12. Hendrickson's a pretty good ground ball pitcher. I'd favor a Mench for Hendrickson deal immensely.
  13. "u" and "ur". if u can't find the time 2 type ur message in English, it prolly wasn't that important.
  14. Due to a whole lot going on in my life in the past 6 months, I haven't been able to give the message board software project I wanted to work on the amount of time I would have like to, so a February delivery date is very unlikely. Go ahead and renew your ezSupporter.
  15. Let's end the abortion discussion, please. I know the original intent wasn't to make it political/religious in nature, but it's turning that way. Thanks.
  16. [ Thats a lot more than a bag of balls ] That's a very expensive bag of balls. A Jenks for Lieber straight-up deal would benefit both clubs, as the salaries are pretty much a wash, and they're both FA's at the end of the year.
  17. [ That's a great name. Ron Davenport. He should run for public office with that name. ] It reminded me instantly of Ron Burgandy.
  18. [ Finally got the Wii connected to wireless. I just had to go from WPA to WEP, and that did the trick. ] Just did the same thing as well... worked like a charm! [ Zelda: TP - great game or greatest game? I'm about 25 hours in and it has blown my mind. ] I'm probably about 4 hours in now. Freakin' sweet.
  19. [ Jackson is considered a future middle of the rotation starter and Jenkins would be an upgrade over Jay Payton. ] "future" is the key word. There's a lot of guys who were supposed to be a lot of future things... To even be considered, I would think the Brewers would have to pick up ALL of Jenkins's salary... but even then, I don't think the A's are going to give up one of their building-block pitchers for a guy in his FA year, and another guy who's still making his living with potential.
  20. [ The problem is that I can't get the thing to connect to the internet. It detects the network and lets me enter to code, but the connection test always says that it failed to connect. Any help on this? ] I have the same problem, which I also have with my Nintendo DS. There are some wireless routers which it flat out doesn't support. You can also purchase the nintendo wi-fi usb connector, which hooks into a computer that's connected to the internet.
  21. Just got through playing the heck out of Wii Sports. At first, I thought it was cool, but not spectactular. After playing it more thoroughly with family, I had a BLAST. It was really fun to see my dad play the home run derby, my mom bowl, and my brother talk smack to all his boxing opponents. It isn't your average gaming experience, for sure... and that's why it's so cool.
  22. I'd like to buy 360 xbox's.
  23. To snag a free agent, it would be necessary to overpay by about an additional 2M a year over what they get from a team that would qualify as a legit contender. The problem is the risk... If you go out and sign a player that ends up taking up 20% of your payroll, and that player goes down, you're screwed. I'd rather take players via salary dumps from other teams (i.e. Carlos Lee, Corey Koskie) than go overpay via the FA market... If the team were just one star away from being legit, I might think differently.
  24. [ Here Here! I hope the nerds already in line have bats. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif ] Or at least some magic missile.
  25. [ I'm the one in the apt who has the car, and I told them I will drive them simply because I want to see what happens when a bunch of nerdy guys (not trying to generalize, it's just that I saw guys lined up at Target Thursday afternoon and they weren't exactly the body building/fighting type) attempt to stop my 2 roomates who are very fit 20yr old college kids who have had their fair share of fights. ] line cutters are the lowest forms of life... one step below spammers and two steps below cubs fans.
