  1. I didn't realize that Colin Mockery also worked as baseball announcer.
  2. I thought about that, but really? Instead of having games overlap for maybe an half hour, they choose to have games overlaping for possibly 2 hours because of market sizes?
  3. What's more bothersome to me is the people that try to get you to enter the free "drawing" as you enter the stadium. They were actually inside the doors at one point, but later this year I noticed that they were outside. This is actually pretty much a 'scam'. Same scam as the free car drawing that you sometimes see in shopping malls. After filling it out, you will get a call from someone telling you that you won a vacation to someplace warm (as long as you are willing to go sit in on their heavy handed time share sale when you are there). I'm not sure there ever is an actual drawing for a car and if there is it's probably once a year from hundreds of millions of entries from all over the country, and in order to get the car you probably have to sit in on a time share sales meeting.
  4. Tried posting a picture of my 1982 post season bleacher tickets this morning, but I have not been able to post a picture on this site for the last several months. Anyways, I thought people would find the prices interesting. $5 per ticket for the ALCS and $8 for the World Series. Pretty sweet huh?!
  5. TLB, I tried to post a picture this morning using your method and in the process, I got a nasty virus that shut me down for most of the day (had to call the IT guy in to fix it). I'm guessing you have never experienced that with this site. It happened after I pasted the image tag to my post (in the "add from URL"). Casey, the steps that you have suggested are the steps I have always used in the past, but for some reason it doesn't work for me anymore.
  6. I'm trying to figure out why the Yankee game is starting at 8:30 eastern time and not 7:30? I realize it's in Detroit, but that really should not make a difference considering the start times of the TB and StL games.
  7. I thought the opening skit was terrible. Possibly one of the worst things I've ever seen, but I really don't like most of what Kristen Whig does. The rest of the show was pretty good though. The first time they did the Lawrence Welk skit (2 years ago?), I thought it was pretty funny, but they have overdone it now. I think Kristen Whig is usually pretty funny though and one of the reasons I still watch the show. However, I will say I've never been as critical of SNL as other people are.
  8. I caught SNL this weekend. Melissa McCarthy was hosting. I don't really know who she is. Apparently she was in "Bridesmaids" and has been in some TV Series and won an Emmy this year. However, I thought she was really good. Very, very funny...one of the best episodes of SNL in a long time, mainly because of her.
  9. I think the parking tickets prices being "jacked up" for a marquee game is following the same logic as the game ticket prices being "jacked up". Not sure why you would have a problem with one and not the other.
  10. Is this why the HD quality for NCAA March madness is always horrible on my TV (televised on CBS)?
  11. I don't tailgate and I work downtown. However, if the stadium was built downtown, I probably would have cancelled my season tickets at some point as I would have grown tired of the parking and traffic nightmares that 40,000+ fans trying to get into and leave downtown would have created. If you ever tried to leave the parking structure after a Bucks game (with about 15,000 fans at the most) I think you would understand what I'm saying. Sorry, not trying to change the topic of the thread.
  12. Finally saw this the other night. Until now, I never saw the Buckner interview that happened before the 86 World Series where he talks about wanting the be the guy that gets the hit to win the World Series and not wanting to be the guy that lets a ball go between his legs to blow it. A little eerie. By the way, I noticed Wayne Drehs in the 2nd row of the press box at yesterdays game.
  13. When it comes to WMLW, all I can think of is the movie "UHF" with Weird Al.
  14. This better not be a joke. I am serious. I will find someone and punch them. Arrested Development scores another season
  15. Do you think they are being obtuse?
  16. The ball that he threw into the stands was caught by a guy sitting two seats in front of my son. C'mon Robin! Couldn't you have put just a little more on that throw?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. Thanks guys! I'll remember this advice in the future if I want to post a picture.
  18. Just went on the D-Backs site and added up the tickets available in each section. As of now, for tomorrow night, there are 2,423 left along with 912 available on StubHub. So, they are getting closer. Still a ton of seats available for Weds night.
  19. I know that all the post season awards have actually already been voted on and do not take the playoffs into account. However, if we assume that Gibson and Roenicke are going to be the top vote getters, based on the two games in this series so far, Roenicke wins it hands down. I really don't understands Gibson's thinking so far in this series. First, the pitching to Fielder thing on Saturday. Then sticking with Ziegler for so long yesterday. I didn't get that at all. The guy comes in, he balks, and then he walks Yuni, of all people, on 4 straight pitches. He clearly was rattled. He should have immediately taken him out then, but he had no one warming up from what I could tell. Then the squeeze play where Ziegler throws it away. He still doesn't take him out and instead leaves him in there to get battered. It was a 4-4 game. I just can not understand the patience he had with Ziegler at all.
  20. I really think that times are different. There seems to be this general feeling today that using the F-bomb or whatever other explicative is acceptable at anytime and in any type of crowd. My son is now 13, so I'm not quite as sensitive to it as I use to be, but I still do not get the need to talk like that. My son now understands that people who feel the need to talk like that come across as morons. Maybe if you stub your toe or hit your funny bone or something it comes out as a natural reaction, but to pepper it in your daily speech like it's just any another word doesn't make any sense and is a reflection on your intelligence imho.
  21. Your killing me! *inserts toungue between lower and upper teeth..bites down hard*
  22. That would be awsome! Do you have the power to make that happen hawing? Of course, this is one of those threads that can define you as a poster and haunt you in all your future posts. From now on, whenever anyone sees my avatar, all they will be able to think of is...oh him, that's the guy that hates people with mental disorders.
  23. Hmm...why do I sense that the edit part was supposed to be in blue...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  24. Yes, and if Jimmy Chitwood were alive today instead of just being referred to as shy or socially awkward, his over worry-some parents would have taken him to a neurologist and psychiatrist who would have asked him a series of questions and ran a battery of tests so that they could put a more formal name on his condition. Then his poor parents would receive endless bills as they did battle with the insurance companies over how much of the over excessive cost of these treatments would be covered. Sorry...I know...wrong place for this type of discussion. How do you open an Aspirin bottle again?
  25. It's not so much that gypcasino's buddy can't be trusted, it's possibly the Brewer employee that he talked to. My thought is if that if you called back and spoke to a different employee, they would give you a different answer. It just doesn't seem reasonable that this is Brewer's policy on parking. It's really not that hard to know how many parking spots you have, how many you sold, and how many are left...and then turn away anyone who attempts to enter the parking lot after all spots are sold (whether the lot's actually full or not). Reminds me of Seinfeld..."anyone can take a reservation...it's the holding part that is key"
