    Uhhh.....nevermind.....problem solved...nothing to see here. Sorry. Thanks anyways I pressed the panic button a little to early on this one. Went to the Samsung site and did a trouble shoot. I read the diagnosis wrong and believed it was an issue with my TV. After calling American and setting up an appointment, I looked at the troubleshoot again and realized my mistake. I rebooted the cable box and everything is ok now. The reason I didn't initially reboot the cable box was A. I was recording something and B. I never had a white screen issue before related to any cable issues. I just assumed it had to be something with the TV. By the way, American really irritated me. Perhaps I'll post it in the "What's bugging you" thread.

    Turned on my TV tonight. The picture is completely white. I tried everything. Any help anyone?

    You could also take him to a local bowling alley and have a pizza while you bowl. Many bowling places also have arcade areas.

    If it was not for this site and other forums/blogs, I would not know what announcer to not like. I'll never understand all the critisism of sports announcers. I think I can count on one hand the times I have watched a sporting event and have been bothered by the announcing.

    One warning about Stone Fire, if you are looking to do this on the cheap, it can get kind of pricey there especially when you factor in the video games. If you plan on taking the kid to Stone Fire and not allowing him to play video games...well, that's just cruel. Another idea, if he likes Chinese, might be Benihanas downtown where they make the food right in front of you.

    My bachelor party was on the same night that Joe Carter hit the HR to win the World Series. We were at a strip club on National Ave in West Allis when it happened (I can't believe I can't remember the name of the club - I don't think it exists anymore, or the name has changed) edit: Heart Breakers! - I guess it's called Crazy Horse now.

    If the kid is a baseball fan. Fridays at Miller Park is always fun, even if there is not a game going on. Get a window seat, look out over the field and dream. I'm not sure if I'm more surprised that the Organ Piper is still in business or that Radio Shack is still in business.

    I really have to agree with this and to be honest I'm very surprised and a bit disappointed by some of the comments posted here. I thought this was a forum for baseball fans?!

    I say you take up cooking and convince your landlord that you are gay. This is sure to set off a series of misunderstandings. Hi-jinx and hilarity of all sorts will follow. Trust me on this. Oh, also, hanging out at the local pub with your swinging friend should help as well.

    I love the playoffs. But I prefer to watch the games that happen outdoors in the north or east. Something about watching that real Fall baseball with all the fans bundled up in hats and gloves. I think it reminds me of the playoff games I watched as a kid. Also, I'm not sure how anyone could have watched the Saturday night's Yankees/Angels game and still say that they are not into the playoffs.

    We are going to FL next week for a family vacation. I'm on pins and needles waiting for this thing to hit our house. I'm thinking my family should all wear face masks for the next week.

    True. And really, my long story above is irrelevant. My original point was......that a ballplayer appearing at a charity event, press there or not.. it is part of his job. Sorry, no "class act" points for showing up early, staying late or being nice to kids, babies or fans. Is Suppan a "class act" for giving the thousands that he "donates" to charity? Thats all part of his huge contract. That money comes from the brewers (and indirectly you and me). Funding Brewers sponsored charaties and making public appearances is part of the job. I agree that people of wealth/fame have some obligation to participate in charitable causes. However, I also believe that some of these people go above and beyond what is reasonably expected of them. Also, I'm not sure that I agree that the money that Suppan/Counsell/any Brewer gives to charity comes from the Brewers and indirectly from us. You could say this about anyone who gives to charity. I write a check to a charity, which comes from my employer, which comes from my employer's customers, which come's from their employers, which comes from their employer's customers and so on and so on. Just because you give to charity, does not mean that everyone that touched that money is also credited to giving to that charity.

    I'm still trying to understand why this is rude. When you are in an elevator or walking down the street with a friend, do you feel it's rude to have a conversation with that person if other people are in the vicinity? How is this different? I can understand the annoyance with the bluetooth thing, but why is it rude to talk on a phone in public? I'm generally annoyed with people who have to talk loud enough for everyone within 50 feet to hear, whether it's on the phone or in public.

    Then you would be annoyed with me. I wear my hat indoors and I never understood why that is so taboo to some. If I was entirely bald (I am balding) or had a buzz cut, I would have not problem taking it off. However, I tend to get very bad cases of hat hair. So, it's either never wear a hat (not an option for me - sun burn being one reason), or wear a hat all the time (outdoors and indoors), or shave my head (sorry, not going to do that either).

    When we booked our flights a few weeks ago, it appeared to me that Southwest does not have an agreement with any of the travel sites (Orbits, Travelocity, Expedia, etc). I had to go to SW's site and book the flight seperately. Wonder why this is?

    I didn't even know that there was such a thing as a vertical ID. When I was 18 the legal age changed from 18 to 21. I was grandfathered in...just made it by 4 months.

    I absolutley hate big sporting events on CBS or NBC (i.e. LSU vs. Fla State tonight). My HD picture for sporting events on those two networks is horrible. March madness is really "madening". I bought my TV in Feb of 08'. The first big sporting event was the NCAA hoops tourney. I thought I wasted my money and purchased a "lemon" TV. It took me a while to realize it's basically just NBC and CBS that I have issues with.

    Meant to post this a few months ago, but a Time Warner commercial this morning reminded me. I think the Brewers need to change their give away or Time Warner needs to up the stakes for the winner of the "Crazy Hat Shuffle". One month of free Time Warner internet? For one, I'm guessing that if you are already a customer, you can't use it. If you can, many people have bundled services with discounted rates, so what is the value? If you don't already have TWC for your interenet provider, who is going to change providers for 1 month? I realize that this is TWC's plan, to get you hooked on their service so that you don't want to change back, but I'm guessing many people just turn down the give a way anyways.
