  1. Yeah, I don't get this either. Hoffman can't go 3 days in a row? I thought he was healthy now.
  2. I can't believe how many times Provus referred to Snell as Maholm, before he realized it.
  3. I should probably clarify. I'm not looking to give this parking pass away. I'm looking to sell it. I'm asking for $12 or best reasonable offer. $12 is what I paid for this pass in advance. So, I'm just looking to get my money back. If you were to purchase preferred parking now for Saturday night it would cost you $18. Advantages to preferred parking? Last night, went to the game. Stayed for the entire game. We were home in Waukesha before the post game radio show ended. edit: Also, keep in mind if you are going to park in general parking and don't already have a pass, it's going to cost you $10 to park there. So, an extra $2 to park in preferred.
  4. I appreciate Braun's abilities on the field and as a Brewer fan I appreciate that he signed on long term with the Brewers. I hope we never have to hear him complain about how unfair his contract is. I get the feeling we won't. However, sometimes the comments he makes causes me to cringe. A couple of weeks ago he was calling out the pitchers to step up and pull their weight, now this. This comment is kind of directed at the pitchers as well in that he expects them to retaliate on his behalf. I don't know, I guess I'm a little older than many of the posters on this site. I grew up watching guys like Yount, Brett, Gwynn, etc. I thought all these guys were very classy in the way they conducted themselves on and off the field. I can't see any of them ever having made comments like the ones Braun has made over the last 2 or 3 weeks. It's not so much whether I feel that retaliating is right or wrong, but if you are going to do it, then just do it. Don't give the other team all sorts of bulletin board material by shooting your mouth off to the media.
  5. Entire thread about this type of situation here: http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?t=17957
  6. Email my Yuku account if you have any interest.
  7. I'm glad I'm not the only one that notices this or is annoyed by this. I'll never understand it. What's bugging me today? Hold music. It's usually some light, maybe jazzy, soothing music. The purpose is to calm the caller who probably has some sort of billing or service issue and is now annoyed by the fact that he or she has to be put on hold. I wonder how much research has gone into the exact type of music to play when a person is put on hold. When I get put on hold, and I hear this music, I get more annoyed because I know what they are trying to do by piping this calming, soothing music into my ears. Sorry, I'm staying angry. Your Jedi mind games will not work on me.
  8. Just because a player here and there tests positive once in a while doesn't mean it's an "era". I think the 'steroid era' was when just about everyone was doing it and baseball seemed to be looking the other way. I'm guessing that yes, you are going to still have the player here and there that will try to get that 'edge'. My hope, however naive it may be, is that most players have seen what those who have been caught have gone through and that there is a general pact among the players that even if they can get away with it that it's no longer acceptable, nor is it the norm to use PEDs.
  9. Yeah...what's going on. Time Warner in Waukesha...no picture, no sound. What gives?
  10. I think there was a thread like this a year or two ago. This is going to sound odd, but I really enjoy McDonalds Hamburgers. I have never been a big fan of the "big and juicy" type hamburgers that have sauces dripping out of them and things falling out every time you try to take a bite. I like a drier, smaller burger.
  11. Yes, exactly. I would be all over letting myself know what to invest in, when to get out, and what teams to bet on. It would be very much a "Back to the Future II" type of letter.
  12. By this description, I'm sure that this is the same guy that works at US Bank downtown. Next time I see him, I'll have to approach him and let him know that he's being talked about on Brewerfan.
  13. I'm not sure if it's the same guy you are talking about, but does this guy sit right at the corner (where the dugout meets the roof of the player runway) and he always has his glove ready on every pitch to a right hander? He has coarser, lightly graying black hair and sits not to far up from where Baseball Bob sits. If this is the same guy, he works at US Bank. I use to work there about 10 years ago, although I didn't really know him. I still eat lunch about once a week at the Lake View Market inside the US Bank building and pretty much see him every time I eat there (we apparently eat lunch at the same time). As a matter of fact, I was there today and saw him.
  14. Yeah, I remember this peanut vendor as well. I think it was about 10 years ago. He appeared to be a college age guy.
  15. Same thing here. Had to back into the site using my Yuku account.
  16. For the 2nd time since opening day, I have seen a small article in the Journal/Sentinel comparing early season attendance average for all of MLB to last year's final average and noting that it is down from that figure. Is there a point to this? Wouldn't it make more sense to compare this years first two weeks attendance numbers to last years first two weeks attendance numbers?
  17. Do you know if this offer either: A) Requires that you pay cart fees? or, B) Includes a cart? I prefer to walk, but I know that some courses do not have that option. I'm also asking because I noticed on the "green card" promotion on that same web site (buy 1 get 1 free), that it requires that you pay for a cart in order to use the promotion.
  18. The only good thing about the way they do it now is that I like to try to size up how fast each sausages legs look and then pick a winner. Picking a winner before was really just dumb luck.
  19. Mary Ann Scafitti (spelling?) She seems like a nice enough person, but I'm getting kind of tired of seeing her every other commercial (if you live in the Milwaukee area - you know what I'm talking about).
  20. I'm amazed at the strength of drinks in bars now compared to 20 years ago. I watch them make something like a brandy and coke and it's literally half (or more) brandy. I have found myself having to tell them to lighten up on the brandy. This was not the case when I was in college, in fact it was the opposite. There was maybe a shot of alcohol in drinks.
  21. I think Nasty Twig realizes that...he's just pointing out that it appears that his face is deformed.
  22. I used to play Strat-O-Matic all the time as a kid (late 70's). I think I only had 4 teams (A's, Yankees, Giants, & Brewers). Four or Five years ago, I introduced my son to it. He enjoys it. My mom purchased the game for him with all the teams and has done so ever since (with the exception of this year). We play occasionally, but not as much as I would like. It's a little time consuming and I don't have as much time as I use to. My son came up with the idea this year of doing a "fantasy draft" before the 2009 season. Then, next year he wants to get the entire set again and play against each other just using the teams we drafted.
  23. bthurley19...yes, exactly. I'm talking about the MAC address (I was at work and couldn't think of the name of it). Now that I know, I can probably find the instructions on the internet (your posting is blank).
  24. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/story/11625834 This guy had a great voice. Always loved him on the NFL highlight films.
