  1. The video is from 2017, so I thought the book would be completed by now.

  4. He was always one of my favorites in my early years of following the Brewers. I was not aware of his struggles after his career (and apparently during his career). Happy to hear he found his way out of it. The video suggests that he wrote a book. I Googled, but could not find anything. Anyone have any additional information on that?

  8. Rock last half inning, "Norris has to face 2 batters". Nope not true Rock and "You would think it would be Boxberger or Williams in the 8th". Huh? Rock, it's the top of the 7th.
  9. My son texted me just before Rowdy's AB and said Rowdy is going deep.
  10. I agree. It's perfectly normal to get down about 1 game or even a series. I just think comments like "This team stinks" during the 1st inning of the 3rd game of the season are a bit overboard.
  11. The WS champion Braves started 0-4 last year.
  12. Not sure, but probably not at the game 3 mark of a 162 game season.
  13. We are not even 2% into the season yet people. R-E-L-A-X.
  14. I sometimes wonder if Rock is watching the same game. That throw to 2nd was not "right on the money".
  15. Not sure I agree with you. Can you really compare what is at stake for "most people" to that of a MLB player or any other athlete? If what I put in my body could possibly cost me half my annual pay and not allow me to do my job and let down the people I work with (and fans as a baseball player), I think I would email my doctor a list (really not hard to do in this day or age - placing an "international call" is really not a big deal these days either) and/or have some outside consultant (agent?) to double or triple check that I'm not going to fail a drug test. I don't think its unreasonable to think with the amount of money players make and all that is at stake that they would take these precautions.
  16. Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't there something in place for players go to the league about any medication they are prescribed to confirm it is not on the banned list before they take it. Seems like as a player, you would be extra careful about this. Edit: Oh, perhaps the lockout prevented him from doing this. Still....should maybe have provided the bans substance list to the doctor for confirmation.
  17. Gotta say, watching the game yesterday, I prefer Tim Dillard over Rock. I think he provides a lot of interesting insights and has gotten more comfortable with being on broadcasts over the past year. Schroeder tends to rehash the same simplistic, and sometimes outdated, commentary..."Didn't try to do too much with that one", "That was too close to take", and doesn't seem to have any interest in learning anything about modern analytics. I also always appreciate announcers that have at least some knowledge of pop culture references.
  18. Old man post here. When I was a kid I use to collect and keep each year's pocket schedule. Stopped for some reason in the early 90s, Here is a picture of the 1977 Brewer's schedule. Notice the dates with the black boxes. Those were all the televised games. 20 in total. The rest you had to listen to on the radio. There is a part of me that misses those days. Had to visualize in your head what was happening by listening to Uecker and Merle Harmon call the game. Made you appreciate the televised games that much more (it was an event!) or the games I could go to in person (ticket prices are on the back of the schedule and range from $3 for upper grand to $5 for Box seats and don't include bleacher seat prices - which I don't think you could buy in advance back then). Also note all the scheduled double headers. Ten in total if I'm counting correctly, including some Twi-night DHs which started at 5pm. If they did that now the 2nd game would not end until midnight at best. So, anyways, its fine with me if there are some games that I can not watch on TV.
  19. If robocalling does not become a thing, then I want accountability for umpires. There are a handful of umpires that are consistently bad year after year in terms of their ball and strike calling (one less now with Joe West retiring - Yay!). Nothing ever happens to them! They are just allowed to continue to umpire and some of them (i.e. Joe West last year) get rewarded with post season work. I don't understand this at all.
  20. The craziest thing about his start the other day was that the grandfather of his mound opponent in that game, Lucas Giolito, was the actor that played Susan's dad in Seinfeld.
  21. And lesson 1A why it's ok to trade "prospects". Especially when you are a serious pennant contender.
  22. Seems like a lot of the ST games are included in "free game of the day" on MLB TV if you don't have a subscription. The next 4 games, including tonight, are free.
  23. 1.) Where are you from? Born and raised in West Allis. Currently living in Waukesha 2.) Age Range? Mid 50's 3.) How long have you been frequenting BrewersFan.net? A long time - don't remember my exact "join" date. 4.) Highest level of baseball/softball played? Middle School 5.) Favorite Brewers Player, and favorite underappreciated Brewers player, and if you want, favorite current Brewers player? Favorite: Yount , Favorite underappreciated: Lezcano, Favorite current Brewer: Maybe from just a personality stand point - Suter 6.) Favorite Twitter follows? Not on twitter 7.) Other interests outside of baseball. Golf, Music, Finance 8.) Favorite part of BrewerFan.net... All the well informed posters. Some pretty smart people on this site! Also, like that it does a good job of monitoring personal attacks and non-relevant discussion/comments of politics, religion, etc.
  24. I see in this thread and other threads on this site, posters who are lamenting that the Brewers appear unwilling to make a big splash in the FA market and upset that this appears to be their "big bat" addition. According to Roster resource on FanGraphs, the current projected 2022 payroll is $132M. https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/payroll/brewers This is historically high for the Brewers and 30% more than their final 2021 payroll of $103M. Some comments suggest that Attanasio is stingy and could afford to spend more. Are you suggesting that if Attanasio owned the Yankees, Dodgers, Giants, or any other large market club that his payroll would still be $130M? I find it interesting that all the "stingy" and "cheap" owners happen to own small market clubs. ?‍♂️
