  1. I like the jerseys. I'm still in the camp of "Leave the Old ball and glove alone" the subtleties are just not enough for me to justifty the change. At some point I will buy that current hat, but I bought 3 new ball and glove logo hats at the clubhouse sale, so I'm all set for awhile, and the hats still go plenty well with my knew knock off jerseys.
  2. BSC, that was what really bothered me most about last year. Being shuffled down a hall, into a room, then into another room, then up the escalator, then down another hall, then thru a zig zag line before finally being able to go up the second escalator to the main room. I'd be so frustrated with the whole thing, too. I don't blame you for leaving. It probably doesn't do any good to contact the Brewers and tell them about your experience, either. Old School, I don't think it's the venue, it might be the number of tickets they are selling. Are kids free? Even after their run in 2011 it was still manageable to get around and not feel like they've outgrown it. Are they making more tickets available than previously? I'm not sure. Yelich and probably Hader are the main star power. Braun's demand I'm sure has cooled off as have his stats have, and also that he's been able to get for so many years. At this point, I have everyone I want. I used to enjoy getting players that were hot and I considered potential All Stars, but I'm out of room in my basement and my days of wanting players like Travis Shaw or Jim Henderson are long over. I'd rather try to find HOF players on a last minute eBay snake (I need to sell a bunch of Brewers I should probably put list them in the Trading Post, or donate them to my rag-tag hard ball bar league). If someone does become an All Star and I want them, it's generally easier and cheaper to just find that auto on eBay.
  3. This is the first year I haven't gone since the days it was at Brookfield Square. Was hoping someone would've started a thread to talk about their experiences this year. But no one has. Did anyone go? I know what to expect from the autograph lines. Curious how they handle the Yelich line. Did people have to sit in line for 4 hours before finding out if they got a voucher to get him or not? Did the Brewers Charity Rummage improve from the past few years? Was it easier to get through the line than last year? Was there any new features? More vendors? Takeaways? Did you buy any cool stuff? Etc? Thanks!
  4. I still haven't renewed my ten pack, and the only reason we get that instead of the monthly pass is to guarantee we can get playoff tickets. As of right now, our group is getting that monthly pass.
  5. Madtown, I'd look at Reddit. Posting pics on this message board has become difficult since it's on an old server that hasn't been updated in forever. They look really good though. I haven't seen the authentic jerseys up close, but I don't think you'll be able to tell. You'd think Nike and pro sports in general would just accept that people are learning about these sites and just drop their prices drastically, but they won't.
  6. I’ve ordered stuff from there. The new Brewers jerseys look great and are spot on for size. It took two months for them to show up though. I ordered a Davontae Adams jersey before the Packers season started and it was a little off. The back number wasn’t as large as it should be, it was the same as the front number. The mesh part of the jersey was solid material. But it was $18 so I can’t complain too much. I also ordered a Bulls Jordan jersey in XL and it was really a L. Jersey itself looked great, just wish it was the right size. So I gotta put that on eBay and order a new one.
  7. The Violent Femmes were also a part of either decade surrounding the 90s but I could see the nice Milwaukee connection there. Get ready for a Gufs reunion!!! (Maybe that shouldn't be in blue)
  8. I was listening to the Big Show yesterday and Bill Schmidt was drooling over the bobble choices. He even said something like "this is the most that they've ever given away!" I had to write the show immediately and tell him he was very wrong. Those that know me on these threads know my opinion on the overkill of bobbleheads. Unless they did a bobble of me, I don't care who they do it of. That ship has long sailed for me. Looking forward to seeing what those t-shirts look like. That's much more intriguing to me. They're doing an 80's ringer shirt and OMG that could be the greatest giveaway ever.

    Pizza

Very good, decent amount of spice. I'd do it again for certain! I liked it as well. Took the olives off and it was tight up my alley. Agreed. I hate olives so much though. It was hard to get em all off though because they are buried in cheese. But overall I enjoyed it. Red Baron's taco pizza is my absolute favorite of the taco/mexican variety. I don't know know if they only make it available at certain times of the year or what, but I can't seem to find it as regularly as I used to. Cranky Al's in the Valley is excellent. Balestreiri's on 68th and Wells might be my favorite. When the extended family would come to town my grandpa would always get pizzas there on the night my relatives all came into town (around Thanksgiving or Christmas). I go to Green Bay enough, and even went to school there for a few semesters and still have never been to Jake's. All my friends that grew up in Green Bay swear by it. For cheap and fast pizza, we go to Mod more than any other place. Probably once a month. I'm a still a sucker for Pizza Shuttle at times and Jet's I get a craving for too. It's so terribly unhealthy though. I never order more than two slices. For frozen pizza I'm totally a Jack's guy but it's hard to be picky if someone makes frozen pizzas at their house while watching a ball game. Sometimes I'll splurge and get a Geno's East frozen pizza, but now that Pick N Save went to Kroger's I'm not sure they still carry it. Haven't seen it in awhile.
  10. I didn't even bother getting a ticket this year. Last year I didn't really enjoy myself. Got the one auto I wanted, but otherwise just walked around aimlessly for 6 hours. Used to be a great opportunity to get game used jerseys, bats, helmets, hats, etc. Now they have everything overpriced. The rummage had bobbles, but the more popular ones they had em at eBay prices. All the leftover playoff gear they had was all 3XL. Don't mean to be a grump, it's a great event for families if your kids do well with crowds. As a collector though, it's easier just to get what I want on eBay and not leave the house. (Best score I had was when Yelich had just been traded, and I bought two signed balls off a dealer in Miami for $40 for the pair).
  11. I just love the idea that someone can walk out to the mound and issue a five pitch walk and top my annual salary.
  12. Barry is great! Season two is just as good, if not better than the first. Based on the past two seasons I'd assume that season three will be coming out in March. Also saw that in January there will be a new Curb Your Enthusiasm. I for one am extremely excited about that. Larry David is a genius.
  13. We just finished watching The Righteous Gemstones, and we loved it. My wife and I just started watching Succession, its got two seasons. We weren't sure about it after the first episode, but the second episode the characters started coming through a bit more. I need to finish up on The Deuce, also. Granted these are all HBO shows. Wu Tang: An American Saga is pretty great. I think they only planned it as a 10 part mini series, but they really could do a second or even third season. There's 10 guys in that group, so there could be a lot of backstory to get into. We've also been watching Mind Hunters, and Castle Rock, but we only do an episode of each, then we have to watch an episode of Goldbergs or something to lighten things up. The newest episode of Castle Rock was pretty intense.
  14. This is pretty spot on.
  15. Speaking of Trick Or Treating, Wauwatosa needs to seriously make up it's mind on when to do it city wide and just have one day. Our neighborhood gave out candy last Saturday night (in the pouring rain). Then city wide gave out candy from 1-4 on Sunday. And I believe there is an additional Halloween Trick or Treat tonight. Generally we only give out candy on the Saturday night. We'll put some of the leftovers in a "take one" bowl on Sunday (knowing the first person who spots it will get all the candy, but whatever), and we leave the lights off for tonight just in case anyone goes out. In conclusion though, if there was one day instead of three, it'd just be a lot easier for everyone.
  16. I went right when it opened on Friday and went right to the hats. By the time I got to the hoodies the one I wanted was gone. I kicked myself for not checking those first, but I was alright with that. I mostly wanted to get a few more fitted hats. Got a Hiura player tee for myself in XL and a pretty good looking retro tanktop for my wife. Also grabbed some Stormin Gorman sauce when i got to the front of the line. Also considered getting another piggy bank, but it'd just be to flip it down the line, which doesn't seem worth the effort to make $15-$20 bucks. Side note Hawing, there was a bunch of winter hats on Friday. Considered getting one of those too, but I already have a like five or six Brewers winter hats. In retrospect, another one wouldn't have hurt. I think I'm gonna run over there after work and see if there is any new items they pulled out.
  17. What are some movies worth checking out? And can you give a brief summary of whatever you are recommending? Thanks!
  18. The Wendy's ad (and Wendy's ads in general) that is talking about the spicy chicken sandwich. The ad says something like "you might remember who invented the chicken spicy sandwich. Spoiler it was us." That's not a spoiler, they're just looking to pump in a buzz word. These dumb ads wouldn't bother me so much, but they last for a good 5-6 weeks or longer before being changed up, and they play them on the radio station I listen to like every other commercial break.
  19. It'd be nice if they make the switch before the clubhouse sale. Could be a good chance to bulk up my jersey totals if the current jerseys go on clearance
  20. Even bands that I loved (and still love) 10-15 years ago I don't go out of my way to buy their albums. I'll stream it online, but rarely buy anything. If you're into hip hop at all, there's a Milwaukee label called Dope Folks that puts out unreleased or very rare 90's hip hop on vinyl. They put out a new album like every few months. Pusha T's "Daytona" was the most recent hip hop album I bought, and that came out two summers ago. I tend to look into finding old bands that I mighta missed out on now more than ever. I've been a long time fan of early power pop and am always searching out new bands. There's always a lot of really catchy and up-beat stuff there. More times than not bands only have one or two great songs, but there are LPs that can be found for a few bucks (though dollar bin finds are now $5 bin finds). The shortage of great songs is because every label was trying to sign the next Knack. But a few great albums that came out of that were The (Paul Collins) Beat - S/T, The Plimsouls - Everywhere at Once, The Shivvers - S/T (From Milwaukee!!!!), Flamin Groovies - Shake Some Action, Replacements - Pleased To Meet Me As far as other more recent rock stuff, I've been really into the White Reaper, especially "The World's Best American Band" and Sheer Mag - Need To Feel Your Love (Though this album rules, live Sheer Mag is very boring). Milwaukee's own Platinum Boys are incredible too. Think CCR playing twice as fast with three lead vocals. Super fun, catchy party music. Devils Teeth, also from Milwaukee are surfy party music worth checking out too. Might as well plug my band, Future Plans. LP coming out soon! https://futureplansmke.bandcamp.com
  21. Just for fun I went and looked, and 2020 sold out in June.
  22. This sounds amazing. Only way I could swing it though would be through a GoFundMe. Too many other upcoming expenses that are priorities.
  23. Drives me up a wall when you're telling someone something and they finish the sentence for you. I know a few people that do that. Sometimes it just happens because you're telling something exciting and they're excited for you, and that doesn't bother me. But when you're trying to talk to someone and they do it practically every single sentence it really begins to wear thin on me.
  24. When Brewers Charities sold Brewers game used jerseys for rummage sale prices, that was the place to get em. I scored a great 90's #5 jersey (Worn by Kelly Stinnett) and a few years ago got a #42 Jackie Robinson day jersey and a #71 jersey. They were all $25 each. Now however the Brewers charge $200 for someone like Nate Orf and someone like Hernan Perez they want something like $450. ALL. SET. You could always get a blank back jersey and just have a number added on there.
