    I’m not sure he misjudged it either……just because the Cubs decided to make a stupid offer doesn’t mean the Brewers should. They made a great offer……it would have made him the highest paid manager……..he wanted more…….. Brewers were never going to get in a bidding war with the Cubs……..when it comes to that…….it’s time to just part company.

    Not sure I read an exact figure but I did read something from a Mets site that they were definitely interested in hiring him but were never going to come close to the numbers he got…….and they kind of suggested that although Counsel took the interview they never got the feeling he wanted to move to NY.

    I have a hard time blaming MA for offering CC more money than anyone else was making as a manager in baseball at that time……..the Cubs decided to drastically overpay in the hopes of finding 3-5 wins at the margins and costing the Brewers the same………time will tell how it plays out for them but the Brewers( in baseball’s smallest market) made a more than fair offer. I mean even David Stearns wasn’t willing to offer close to what the Cubs did……with Cohen’s money to back him up.

    I’m not sure why I didn’t know this but apparently Hudson toiled in the Cubs farm system for 8 years……..before moving to the Dodgers as a minor league free agent. got to love it…….

    I know we teed off on that lefty in the Pirates series but we just continue to struggle against them for the most part. Lots of fastballs at 93-94 with plenty of the plate that they are just swinging through
