Triple A hitting coach thinks Mitchell needs a little more time down there https://www.mlb.com/news/sal-frelick-making-case-for-mlb-callup-in-2022

Wiemer had a good day today but he has not been crushing it at AAA

Turners ball was hit 98 miles an hour…….Sure it could have been hit at someone but when they are smoked that hard you aren’t exactly unlucky.

It certainly doesn’t help that the low strike doesn’t appear to be in this umps wheelhouse

I am so done with Taylor……..give me either Ruiz or Frelick…..even if they struggle at least they are getting experience

I really wish they had sold high on Houser last off season.

I was just mentioning this to a friend the other night……there is absolutely no doubt that there has been an organizational shift toward acquiring elite speed……Mitchell, Frelick, Turang, Chourio, Wiemer all drafted or signed and now Ruiz being targeted as a trade chip for Hader. Now if we could just find a first baseman/3rd baseman or 2 with some pop and good speed to round out our multitude of outfield prospects.

Padres lose again…….their offense has been worse then the Brewers since they went “all in”at the deadline . Hader pitched in a game they lost 7-0 to,try and find some confidence. Gave up 2 hits but struck out the side and got through the inning without giving up a run.

Those are some great comments from the hitting coach……especially about Frelick and Turang.

Yes things would have been so much better if Brewers had emptied the farm system and “ went all in”….like the Padres……lol Stearns calculus was that the Brewers could get some players they really wanted for Hader before he lost most of his value…..and not make the team worse by also acquiring Bush, Rodgers and Rosenthal. The fact they aren’t playing better now is just a continuation of how they have played since May……..if management concluded that this team had no realistic path to the World Series this season I certainly don’t blame them…… In retrospect the deal looks better and better……Hader has stunk and taken out of the closers role……Gasser has gotten off to a fantastic start….and Rogers and Bush have had more good outings then bad. I’m sorry Lauer’s feelings got hurt……but the team isn’t worse then before the trade…….I understand losing a popular teammate in season is difficult…….but from time to time it’s going to happen in sports.

But at least they won the trade deadline with the breathless media lauding them for going “ All In”!
