  1. Grisham won the gold glove last season…….this year if the gold glove is given to the best centerfielder it will be Bader. He has 15 drs in 622 innings. Grisham 7 in 835 innings. Urias could end up being a starting 2nd baseman where his bat will play just fine. Obviously we have Wong there now but as we all know things change. Bottom line…..the trade has not turned out to be the disaster that many claimed.
  2. Before today’s games Urias OPS 772 Grisham 771
  3. Reds lose the opener. No matter what happens tonight we will still have at least a 10 game lead in the loss column.
  4. One thing I wanted to mention about last nights game. I love how Omar works with our pitchers……especially the young ones like Cousins. His body language is always reassuring…….he went out to the mound in that crucial at bat to Belt ……looked like he changed up his locations because Belt seemed to be getting the info from 2nd base……so he started the target up and then at the last second moved it down for the slider that struck him out. He and Manny both appear to in complete control back there.
  5. Pardon my ignorance but is the man on 2nd extra inning rule also being used in the playoffs? I would think not but wanted to make sure.
  6. We have our answer……from McCalvy Big Dan Vogelbach and Justin Topa are in San Francisco. Rosters expand tomorrow from 26 to 28 for September.
  7. Cueto it is……apparently if you don’t test positive but are sick you can be put on the Covid list for a day and then be reactivated.
  8. Hand didn’t last long…….didn’t some people here think Hand was comparable to Hader not too long ago? Well if he was……he sure didn’t keep up. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/08/blue-jays-designate-brad-hand-for-assignment.html
  9. CC voted best manager Hader best relief pitcher Wong best defensive 2nd baseman https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/mlb-best-tools-2021-managers-scouts-executives-vote-on-baseballs-best-talent/
  10. "I don't even know what to say. I thought I was getting away from him coming over here, but I’ve seen him twice now [as a Giant],” said Bryant, the former Cub who was traded to San Francisco at the Trade Deadline. “He's one of the best in the game. He's got five ‘plus’ pitches and throws strikes, and when he's not throwing strikes, it looks like it's going to be a strike.”
  11. So BA has now speculated twice that Cueto could go tomorrow yet I’ve seen a number of reports that said both Wood abd Cueto went on the IL?
  12. Might have just decided to stay with it since it was going to be a bullpen game ……who knows.
  13. From McCalvy Willy Adames gave the thumbs up after testing his quad on the bases during BP. He expects to be back at shortstop tomorrow night.
