  1. Gallardo isn't going to be in the rotation if he doesn't start showing something soon. They will go with Suter
  2. That's going to leave a mark......ouch
  3. Tom ‏ Verified account @Haudricourt 3m3 minutes ago More Keston Hiura not exactly intimidated by Ohtani, ripping a double to left-center. In case you haven't heard, that kid can hit.
  4. Hiura with a line drive RBI single to right center followed by a rocket off the wall by Nottingham in the 9th 6-1 crew
  5. CC seemed to think Braun's first game at first base went about as well as could be expected.
  6. Nottingham just crushed 1......my goodness
  7. Drake gives up 2 hits and a walk to start the 4th inning. If he is going to have any chance to make the team(don't think he will) he is going to have to be lights out this spring
  8. I'm not sure I'd count a few hits and 1 hr as a " hot spring" lol Let's hold our horses until at least the middle of March......
  9. He looked great. 10 pitches no balls 2ks. Nice easy delivery.....1 k was on what looked like a nasty spliter.
  10. The difference is we do *one hundred and sixty two* games, half of the year. I like acting like a vegetable as much as anyone on the couch but at some point things have to get done. People don't have time to sit 3 hours a day watching these guys stand around and occasionally run to a fly ball like we used to, so anything to shorten the game helps. IMO Granted, that's not taking into account the radio broadcasts which are quite useful in passing time at work and all, but still. Plus most baseball games are at night not Sunday at noon. Work and school the next day.....west coast games.....etc
  11. It has nothing to do with trade value. He has 10-5 rights and he wants to stay here.
  12. Braun has already said he isn't going anywhere with the possible exception of LA.......why don't we just believe him and move on?
  13. Not a huge fan of Boras, but I'd suggest a player deserves the largest amount that a team is willing to pay. That's what his players expect when they hire him, after all. Ultimately every free agent will get the largest amount a team is willing to pay......unless he turns down a better offer. "Deserve" makes me laugh.......what somebody "deserves" is not some cut and dried figure that an agent gets to decide. Each club will have a different interpretation......assuming they are interested at all. Did Cain get what he deserved? Depends if he stays healthy and performs well in the next 4 or 5 years. Clubs are trying to evaluate the future......not pay for the past.
  14. Let's remember it took Jimmy a few years to become the Jimmy Nelson we saw last season. I'm not sold that we are going to see that from Woodruff in 2018.....his command and breaking stuff has a ways to go. Jimmy made some changes to his delivery before making the jump......Woodruff might need to as well.
  15. Doing it over multiple seasons has to enter in there somewhere.........Harvey was an ace and now he isn't close......Nelson and Chase were TOR guys last season.....the season before not remotely close.......I have a hard time giving guys who haven't proven it over the long term the same status as guys who have done it for 3-5 years.
  16. No way there are 30 aces......that's the Brian Anderson definition....lol
  17. But financial disparities aren't the reason some. NFL teams are not successful. All you can ask for is an even playing field .......if management is inept then they have nobody to blame.
  18. I thought you were quoting Todd Rundgren songs... I am!
  19. I'd rather give money to Arrieta then a pile of prospects for Archer
  20. http://amp.si.com/mlb/2018/02/02/brodie-van-wagenen-agent-free-agency-market?__twitter_impression=true
  21. "We like all of our current players on the 40 man roster and throughout the minors.......with that being said we are open to trading any of them if it improves our team"
  22. You never give up leverage. Saying " yes we definitely need to add another pitcher or 2 via free agency or trade" would be beyond stupid....... Relax
