  1. So in other words Braun said he would cooperate fully but really his defense is "take my word for it"? I understand it's privileged but he can't have it both ways......You can't say you will cooperate fully and then not do anything to show that your explanation is true. It's called attorney work-product and it is privileged. Sure Braun could waive the confidentiality but that could open him up for problems down the road. There are articles out there explaining a lot of the legalities and nuances of the situation and explaining why it isn't as easy as just "producing the documents." Either people aren't reading them or Braun has always been guilty in their minds (or both).
  2. He doesn't have to prove he didn't use. If he used the guy for consulting services (as he claims) there should be a paper trail that his attorney can produce to prove that they did meet and the purpose of the meeting. Dates, invoices...notes etc. Braun has said he would cooperate fully........produce the documents.
  3. Signing is official....De Los Santos DFA http://brewernation.mlblogs.com/2013/02/06/brewers-officially-announce-gonzalez-signing/
  4. It doesn't matter if you care or I care....it matters if Bud Selig cares and the players association cares......and since they passed rules regarding the issue I think we can assume they do.
  5. "There's no crying in baseball. How will he explain that to his son?" CC "Son...sit down I need to talk to you" Son "Yes dad" CC "You know I have had some injuries and I have really fought to come back from them right?" Son "Yes dad " CC "well I have to tell you that after that MFer Nyjer Morgan got me mad a couple of years ago I slammed the rosin bag down so hard that I think I wrecked my shoulder for good" Son "That's horrible dad" CC "Yeah but don't worry about it.....I've made almost 100 million dollars in my career so it's all good" Son "That's what I'm talking about! Dad...your the greatest!" CC " I am aren't I?"
  6. Looks like career might be over....... Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale Carpenter tearfully informed the #Stlcards on Friday that he likely can't continue to pitch, most likely ending a brilliant career.
  7. And he is in a contract year. .....if he was going to try to weasel out of spring training he certainly wouldn't do it this year. It's unfortunate but all of his injuries have required surgery.....to suggest he is willing to miss a month or more of regular season games and hurt his team just to skip spring training is just ridiculous.
  8. Wow..... http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/brewers.html
  9. Tom ‏@Haudricourt #Brewers RHP Marco Estrada got $1.955 million and and reliever Burke Badenhop got $1.55 million. Check blog on http://jsonline.com .
  10. Looks like no arby hearings at all this year......good news Tom ‏@Haudricourt #Brewers also have deals with remaining two arbitration players, RHP Marco Estrada and RH reliever Burke Badenhop. That clears the deck.
  11. John Axford ‏@JohnAxford BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! So pumped right now! #ILoveMilwaukee
  12. People are concentrating too much on the "voted in". The real story is that he didn't get named to more even when he wasn't voted in as a starter. He just didn't have that many "wow" seasons. The rule that every team must be represented probably hurt him in some years too.
  13. 5 million
  14. 4.3 million http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/brewers.html
  15. I heard Melvin on the radio last week. He implied that Narveson would be given every chance to win a spot in the rotation.
  16. I don't think they need Green. Bianchi can play SS, 2nd or 3rd and Gamel can play first and probably some outfield or 3rd in a pinch. Give me a righthanded hitter for the last spot.
  17. I hope the last guy is a right handed hitter with some pop who can give Aoki a rest against at least some lefties. I suppose it could be a first baseman and you could then move Hart out there but my guess is the Brewers would probably like to let Corey just settle in and first now that he has made the switch.
  18. They traded Greinke when they knew they couldn't win. If they are in the same situation this year they will do the same with Hart. I'd much rather keep Hart and see how we are doing heading into the deadline then trade him now when the return isn't likely to be much different.
  19. I think I'd also be open to trading Hart for Verlander but let me think about it for a few minutes....... Ok..... I'm willing to do it.
  20. Olney ranks the Brewers lineup 2nd best in baseball. FWIW http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/blog/_/name/olney_buster/id/8808958/los-angeles-angels-milwaukee-brewers-top-10-lineups-majors-mlb
  21. Until Segura proves he can get on base at a higher % then Weeks he should and will likely bat 8th. Aoki Weeks Braun AR Hart Luc Gomez Segura
  22. I think Henderson will be fine. Love his stuff
  23. Nice.....2 quality lefties in the pen......never thought I would see the day
  24. And the fact that Fielder will almost certainly be only playing DH by then
