How do you win a game without a home run if you're the Brewers? 13 singles, 2 hit batters, 3 walks and 7 stolen bases................Oh and 8 innings of 2 hit shutout pitching....
Pirates might need to upgrade their defense behind the plate..........every single or walk is a double for the crew. I can't remember a team this bad at throwing out runners.....Helps that the Brewers have 5 guys who can really run.
I don't see a max effort delivery. I see a guy hitting 97 in the 7th inning with a cruising speed of 95. Clearly command has been an issue but according to Peralta he has mad a mechanical adjust ment recently(not sure exactly when) and it has really improved his command. I think to he needs to devlope more confidence in the off season in his change up. 3rd pitch is important for a starter.
The mets scored 9 runs in their last 6 games and they put up a 6 spot against Fiers and Parra. I hate not having a decent lefty in the pen. Mets are just stacked with lefthanded hitters.
Great D by the whole Brewers team the last 2 nights.....and really they have been very good all year. This has been a fun streak after all the heartbreak for 3 quarters of the season.
Marcum looks more like Suppan everytime he pitches. His stuff is just getting to the point that he has to be perfect. Just so I'm not being misunderstood.....I'm not saying Marcum has performed like Suppan only that he looks to be trending in that direction with his stuff. I'll take my chances with one of our young arms before I'm paying him even 7 million.
