Yes, but Estrada could have been asked to bunt. Also, if the Brewers would score something like 3-4 runs in the inning, you could send Estrada back out there and try to steal another inning of work. The bullpen could still be ready in case of no runs scored or if Estrada got into trouble. Edit: Of course, Estrada could have told Roenicke that he was completely done, but we wouldn't have that info.

Got the Yankees game force-fed to us here in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Not even Central PA is allowed leave from the AL East's clutches.

That better be a minor thing for K-Rod. Hate to see the meltdown if it isn't.

Not the end of the world for Narveson to be skipped. Last three starts were mixed, but none were great. Might be a good idea to call up someone from the minors for a spot start or two. However it's dealt with, the staff needs to be in good shape for the road trip to NY and PIT (Doubleheader on AUG 22).

T-Plush tickled a ball past John Jay for a bases-clearing double last series. Such unclassy fielding does not go unnoticed by Cardinals fans or LaRussa. Jay will take his deserved spot on the bench, so that Patterson may demonstrate how CF rightly is to be played.

I'd like them to finish in second place, one game behind the Brewers. I'd love the Pirates to finish over .500, 10+ games behind the Brewers, and one game ahead of the third-place Cardinals.
