  1. Need a whole crate of rockets lit up under some people on the sideline.
  2. Have the top paid special teams coordinator for that?
  3. Not as expected, but still a lead at halftime. Can’t let the Giants hang around. Need to exert some control of the game in the third quarter.
  4. With multiple Monday night games going on, did we get the junior varsity officiating crew?
  5. Have managed so far to avoid points off turnovers and giving the Giants a short field after special teams penalty. Playing with fire, though.
  6. Big stop by the defense. Time to get seven with a short field.
  7. Needed to lower the shoulder and try to run over a defender. Not the usual advice to a QB. But better than fumbling.
  8. Can’t allow DeVito to escape that much when pressured. Two positive runs after his offensive line basically collapsed. Need to turn those into sacks.
  9. Action-packed last five minutes, though no points were scored. Can’t feel badly about being up 17 at halftime. But feels like just a little momentum got lost by being unable to tack on at least one more score.
  10. Pressure is getting home on Goff. Big stop. Need to cash in for points with the shorter field and under 2 minutes in the half.
  11. Stretch the lead to 17 points. If the defense can get one more stop in the half, finishing with points on the last possession could be huge.
  12. Doesn’t hurt to get something back if the team was declining the option year. Looks like that’s what happened. Never know if one of those minor league relievers can turn into a serviceable MLB bullpen arm. Get Holub in the lab this Winter and Spring to see.
  13. Adding the Designated Hitter to the Run Prevention Unit is quite a feat.
  14. I could see Baltimore as a team that the Brewers match up with for trades. Others have mentioned this previously in other threads, so this isn't a fully original thought. The Orioles should be competitive next season but certainly could use a #1/#2 starting pitcher. Bautista's injury means they could also use a closer. Corbin Burnes and Devin Williams would both be potential trade targets for Baltimore. Such a combination deal should bring high return back for the Brewers. Baltimore has a lot of near-MLB-ready infield talent in their upper minors. They already brought up Gunnar Henderson, Jordan Westburg, and Joey Ortiz to the majors. They probably have room for one more of their prospect infielders (e.g. Coby Mayo, Jackson Holliday). But it seems like they have a similar problem as the Brewers: more IF prospects than spots in the lineup, like Milwaukee has more OF prospects than spots in the lineup. So Baltimore seems to be a good matchup. Target Mayo as the cornerstone of a trade deal to become the longterm 3B in Milwaukee. Scanning Baltimore's Top 30 prospects, you could look to pick up several others. I'd look to include both Samuel Basallo (C) and Connor Norby (2B), both in their Top 10. Target a pitching prospect for the last player return (Chayce McDermott?) or look for two A/A+ players (high ceiling/mid-to-low floor). I'm sure others may have better ideas, but Baltimore seems like one of those "it just makes sense" type of trade targets.
  15. Looks like the Brewers talk starts around the 19:30 mark.
  16. Still a bit irritated that the season ended like that. Not just a first-round loss, but a sweep in two games that illustrated the shortcomings of the team roster—both one realized much in the regular season (not converting RISP chances) and what was a worst-case thought (the team’s strength of pitching not showing up as anticipated in the playoffs). But the results weren’t totally unexpected. The Woodruff injury news pretty much removed my thinking about a deep run in the playoffs. So this week wasn’t devastating. That said, I really would like to have a chance to see a Brewers World Series appearance as a fan, let alone a win. (The 1982 appearance is barely a faint memory of being the only non-Cardinal fan in the local St. Louis kindergarten class.) There are some suggestions that the future might be bright enough to get more playoff berths in the near future. But that hurdle of winning a pennant still remains the challenge.
  17. It's a good looking promotion announcement:
  18. If this is the Burnes who shows up for the next two months, it’s going to be having a true ace topping the rotation. Strong way to embark on a divisional title race with the potential for chasing finishing #2 in the league standings.
  19. College player with a few years in the minors before hitting the bigs. Short stature, left-handed hitting outfielder who could stick in CF but not be a top-of-league defender at that position. Seems like he might be a comp to Brett Butler.
  20. Early days, obviously, so a bit hazardous to draw full conclusions. But it’s a bit unfortunate that the Anderson contract didn’t include a team options for a second year. (Unless I missed something.) Seems like that might have been one of those buy-low possibilities this past winter.
  21. That would be a nice development. I would imagine that the planned team would be an expansion franchise into the USL Championship, the level below Major League Soccer in our American soccer pseudo-pyramid. That level is in process of expansion, adding a team in Des Moines, IA in 2024. You can see the list of current USL Championship teams in the following link, which are hosted by cities of similar size to Milwaukee: https://www.uslchampionship.com/league-teams A couple other online articles suggest the same: https://urbanmilwaukee.com/2022/05/20/eyes-on-milwaukee-soccer-stadium-concert-venue-planned-for-downtown/ https://soccerstadiumdigest.com/2022/05/new-milwaukee-soccer-stadium-pitched-as-part-of-entertainment-complex/
  22. COVID also eliminates Michigan from the tournament. News just breaking.
  23. Finished Tehran on Apple TV+. Pretty good modern spy thriller; the Israel vs Iran dynamic was a different take from the shows/movies set in the Cold War era or the modern war on terror.
  24. Really good choice, Reilly. I didn’t know how well a prequel to “Morse” would work, but “Endeavour” has been outstanding. Can’t miss watch on my TV schedule whenever the new episodes appear each summer on PBS. Might go back and watch the past episodes on Amazon Prime. Another series that I’ve enjoyed in the modern British mystery genre is “Unforgotten.” Some of the past series are on Amazon Prime also.
  25. Must be the “new normal”: Spielberg summer blockbusters in a repeat form.
