  1. The batter is not charged with a time at bat, but I don’t think he gets credit for anything for OBP purposes. The batter is not charged with a time at bat — Rule 9.02(a)(1)(D) The instance of reaching base is ignored when calculating on-base percentage — Rule 9.21(f) Comment The batter is credited with a plate appearance for the purpose of qualifying for minimum standards for individual batting championships — Rule 9.22(a) References are from the 2019 rule book.
  2. Here’s a link to his stats on Baseball Reference: https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.fcgi?id=woodrbr01&year=2020&t=p#innng::none
  3. In a league that keeps Angel Hernandez around.....
  4. Tangential to tonight’s game, but news broke of Chadwick Boseman’s death due to colon cancer. He played Jackie Robinson in “42.”
  5. Definitely the turning point. Piling on two-out RBIs have made the difference tonight.
  6. You can but not often......110 mph Nottingham came close. Only 107mph, but a majestic home run.
  7. Brock Holt is designated for assignment. Jace Peterson selected from alternate training site.
  8. Sounds like an interesting study- do you have a link? Here's a link to a media story about the study: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/neck-gaiters-may-actually-increase-covid-19-transmission-study-finds-183034882.html Here's a link to the study itself: https://advances.sciencemag.org/content/early/2020/08/07/sciadv.abd3083
  9. No TV blackouts should be in effect this year. Is Fox Sports Wisconsin blacked out on your TV? Is the game available on Fox Sports North? I'm not so sure about blackouts via the MLB app, since the conditions for that haven't changed due to COVID-19. If you're using the MLB app to watch the game in the Twin Cities, you aren't watching the commercials that would run during Fox Sports North's broadcast. That's how it is here in Central PA whenever the Brewers play Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, or Washington: you have to watch the game on the local regional cable sports network and not the app. I can understand why that might still be in effect. (But don't get me started on Iowa and MLB broadcasts and app blackouts there; lived through that foolishness.)
  10. Hour earlier start than last night. Not much change in results so far.
  11. Brewers put multiple runners on base in consecutive innings, but can’t get the run scoring hit. White Sox get one runner on, then drive him in with a homer. Frustrating to watch so far this season.
  12. I'm not a fan of Manfred, but there seems to be more in play than differing "style/philosophy/leadership of Adam Silver vs. Manfred." A major factor is the difference in relationship between MLB and MLB ownership with MLBPA compared to the relationship between the NBA and NBA ownership to NBPA. The "pod/hub" system might have increased the chance for a baseball season to be completed, but that didn't seem to gain much favor with MLBPA. MLB is also complicated by needing to hold daily games that are multiple hours in length. Having several of those taking place daily in one stadium is harder than what the NBA or NHL need to do to finish off their 2019-2020 season and playoffs. That said, I'm not sure whether NBA or NHL could pull their system off for an entire season.
  13. I feel confident in predicting he will get the day off tomorrow Yeah. Stepped in that bucket by not looking at the schedule.
  14. Do we see Yelich getting a day off soon? Or is this a just keep throwing him in the lineup and see what happens type of situation? He seems lost at the plate.
  15. Williams fielded a weak ground ball that he had to come off the mound to get. Then he threw wildly past Smoak at first base. Ended up runners on second and third base.
