  1. At what park did he hit that double that went further than all but 2 of his homeruns? I think that it's the double Hiura hit to center field on July 21 in Arizona. That huge wall in center takes away a number of home runs. Based on where that double hit around 3/4 high on the wall, I'm guessing that the spray chart may have put in an estimated distance that the ball would have traveled.
  2. Adding two quality bullpen arms, one of which needs to be capable of closing games, would give a chance to compete. But this team seems like a leaking boat without enough material to plug all the holes. Woodruff’s injury might be what puts the team under. Not saying playoffs are out of the question, just beginning to think it might not be a probable result.
  3. Contrast between veteran and rookie batters with Cain and Hiura facing a reliever with a funky delivery in Hughes. Veteran works a deep count walk; rookie swings at first pitch and grounds into a double play.
  4. Catcher batting lead off and laying down a bunt for a hit: wouldn’t have guessed Grandal was the answer.
  5. It is, I've seen all the seasons. Really good supporting actors, and just a nice pace/ vibe going on.... Great to see some other Bosch fans on here. It's definitely must watch for me each time the new season is produced on Amazon Prime. Good story line and pacing, plus seeing some faces from The Wire is nice to see. Another season is in the works already, so something to look forward to in Spring 2020.
  6. Continuing the thoughts on filling the current black hole at 1B.... How effective is Grandal at playing 1B? Might it be worth moving his bat over there after Piña finishes his rehab assignment? Would a Piña/Nottingham combo behind the plate produce more than the Aguilar/Thames combo is presently providing at 1B? Would having a different primary catcher affect the pitching staff?
  7. Taylor Jungmann. Fiers. Cal Eldred was unhittable in 92. Steve Woodard had an amazing debut against Roger Clemens. Can’t forget the legend of Chris Saenz.
  8. For a AAAA pitcher, Burch Smith has a top-class entrance song with Led Zeppelin’s “When the Levee Breaks”. Hader could use something that level.
  9. The Cardinals are like a horror movie antagonist. Only when that elimination notification in the standings appears is it “safe”.
  10. There is none, we're just overly depressed because we blew a 2-0 lead and we'll be watching the Raptors in the finals. Are there that many NBA fans on the board or just Bucks fans? Can’t say that I follow the NBA other than just passing interest in the Bucks. (This time of year is for Stanley Cup Playoff watching: a much better experience and sport.) Curious how many actually will watch the Finals without the Bucks in them.
  11. Two opposite field sacrifice flies today. Just going with the pitch and driving it well enough. Good situational hitting.
  12. Scoreless through three. Has managed to work around traffic on the bases so far. Top of the order up in the 4th. Need the bats to push across a couple runs here.
  13. 40 pitches through 3 shutout innings for Davies. Good efficient start to the game. Maybe a shot for a deep start, which is exactly what the pitching staff needs.
