  1. Got out of Inning 1 unscathed. Let’s see the offense provide an early big lead tonight.
  2. So huge to win Game 1 in a best-of-five series. Holding Colorado to four hits in ten innings is a great performance by the pitching staff. If the offense can turn some of those RISP chances into crooked numbers in a Game 2 comfortable win, it would be great to have a rested bullpen for games in Denver.
  3. Somehow got out of that inning tied. But what a poor performance between the Bottom 8th and Top 9th. Need to score the winning run in the Bottom 9th; going extra innings is the last thing wanted in a bullpen game. Plus, Colorado has to be flying high right now.
  4. Some unimpressive late-inning at bats being seen today. Must drive in these insurance runs when the opportunities present themselves.
  5. The 2-0 lead seems to feel a little larger than that right now, but it is only two runs. Time to push across at least one more run to extend the lead.
  6. Don’t like hitting for Burnes here. Thought he could go another inning, then turn Innings 7-8-9 over to the late game relievers.
  7. Brewers have squared up some pitches, but they ended up outs. So it’s hard to second guess their approach, but it might be worth seeing if they can exploit Senzatela’s wildness by drawing some walks.
  8. Depends on which way the wind is blowing when it comes to Anderson. Both Chacin and Anderson have pitched well at Wrigley this year. If the wind is blowing in, I think I go with Chase tomorrow. Current Weather Channel is calling for wind from the ESE around 7 mph tomorrow afternoon, but then shifting to more SE and S in the early evening. I believe that would be a wind mostly blowing right to left at Wrigley during game time, but that might depend on how fast the weather system is moving through. If the pace is accelerated, then it might be more a wind blowing out to left. If it stalls, then it might even be a definitive crosswind, if not slightly in from right.
  9. Gonzalez, Guerra, Lyles pitching a Game 162 that was a wanted win, and getting that win. Can’t complain a bit about that.
