  1. Like having the lead, too many runners have been left on base in this game. Bullpen should be working with a bigger margin for error. Gonna need the aces to do their ace work.
  2. Excellent job by Soria; got exactly what was needed. Yelich, Braun, and Aguilar due up in a tie game late. Get it done.
  3. Stayed out of the double play by moving Schoop. Maybe Santana to hit against the new lefty reliever?
  4. Game 161 tonight and the Brewers have the ability to win out and win the division. Clinching a division title earlier in the season would’ve been great, but you really can’t ask for more than this as a fan. But I think we all will still hope for a Cardinals win tomorrow.
  5. Cardinals pulled their weight today. Brewers just need to keep winning.
  6. The bullpen depth right now is amazing. When Woodruff can be your middle relief/long man, that’s an excellent pitching staff. Really want to see how that could be used in a full playoff series or two.
  7. Previous pair of Tigers broadcasters got into a fight with each other: https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2018/09/07/detroit-tigers-fox-tv-broadcasters-rod-allen-mario-impemba-fight/1226396002/ Don’t think BA and Rock engage in fisticuffs.
  8. Davies burned through a number of pitches in that 1-2-3 inning. Could use another two innings out of him. Tack on a crooked number in one of the next two innings, and Counsell might be able to keep most of the bullpen aces out of this one.
  9. Just about a perfect inning from Davies in the 2nd. Get the offense back out there quickly.
  10. The improbable 15th Inning comeback win to beat the Pirates will be one of my favorites. Relief pitcher Jordan Lyles walks with two outs; Kratz singles to tie the game; Arcia knocks in the winning runs. The comeback helps to secure a series win against the Pirates, the second series win in a streak of seven series wins in August/September, as the Brewers make the playoff push. https://www.mlb.com/video/must-c-brewers-win-it-in-15th/c-2425071083?tid=6479266
  11. If the Pirates could get at least one more win in Chicago, that would be helpful. A sweep would be huge. I’d rather see the Brewers have a chance to take and hold the division lead without needing the Cardinals to beat the Cubs. If the Brewers complete the sweep in St. Louis, that could be a knockout punch for the Cardinals’ season. If so, then I wouldn’t want to count on them to get a win in Chicago. Of course, the Brewers just need to keep winning.
  12. Pirates able to use Neverauskas and Brault to close out Archer’s start tonight. 6-0 final. Could the Bucs manage a sweep in Wrigley? Definitely have a shot. Even just one more Pittsburgh win would be excellent.
  13. Wow. Seeing the displays of defense by both teams has set up quite the contrast this series.
