  1. the brewers have a really solid marketing department. another example from wednesday night. about the 6th inning a group of 10 college-aged students stumbled into the game. after listening to their conversation, they were from marquette and there were free tickets being given away on campus. these were pretty solid seats...loge infield. the brewers know that a wednesday night in may will be a tough draw, so they give away tickets, likely hoping to make some revenue in concessions. within the first inning they were in the game, this group spent easily $100 on beer and food.
  2. hey...they could have called it MSC
  3. it would make more sense to me to have the stadium host a DH if necessary. cubs play the day game...sox play the night game. that would actually be pretty cool.
  4. the market economy rears its ugly head again! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  5. we saw exactly mc clung is on the roster wednesday night. he is the man for that job
  6. this is exactly what i would suggest. you get 3 different vantage points...all 3 being pretty good.
  7. Give me a ballpark number of how many people would want to wear that. I find it very hard to believe there are that many unless they are part of fraternity or some bar hound. I had many shirts that were "off-color" in college but I wouldn't dare wear them in public now as a grown adult. there are definitely plenty of these people at the ballpark.
  8. just wondering why this football talk has not been routed to the appropriate venue?
  9. definitely walk to greenfield and take the 18. it will drop you right on the corner of miller park way and national. from there it is down the hill to the stadium. it is about the same distance from the badger bus drop to wisconsin as it is to national, and i think the 18 will drop you closer to the stadium
  10. milwaukee hamilton scored 19 in an inning last week. scored 33 in the game. wisconsin mercy rule is after 5 innings.
  11. good stuff. there really is an RPI? they really need to start scheduling some tough road games in april so they are ready for october! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  12. one word...grease that is why breakfast is so good
  13. i think it is the right choice...you have to look at the whole picture, not just the parts you like
  14. i gained some major respect from best buy a couple weeks ago. i bought a tv in february and it went on sale. they matched the new price without question. i was also looking at an external drive that was on sale at CC. since i had $15 in reward zone coupons from buying the TV, i brought the ad in to best buy and they matched that price no questions asked either. it took me all of one minute to get the $20 back on to my CC and a $129 external drive for about $70. i was all ready to fight if need be. i had the return policy printed out and everything! as for what to buy, i just got a harmony remote and love it...granted it was the cheap one. but i am sure the $200+ ones are just as nice http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  15. i always bring this situation up: ever been downtown when there is a bucks game plus an event at us cellular? usually not a pretty picture. the big problem is how the land in the menomonee valley was zoned. i wonder what could have popped up in there if some of it was zoned commercial. with as popular as the bluemound ave bars are, i would think that there would be some serious business for anyone who opened a restaurant/tavern on canal street. i agree that it would have been good for the economy, but the current location is near perfect for the fan.
  16. why has nobdy but doug glanville posted in the blog section in the past couple months? the first few weeks all kinds of people were posting, then it was nothing but glanville. just thought i would ask
  17. he seemed t be talking with someone in the field as well. not sure if it was pitchers in the bullpen or fans...we were in the loge bleachers so we couldnt tell. he was getting a good laugh out of whatever it was. i know there is a whole different thread on booing, but i didnt get why people would boo him. there was a decent smattering of boos on wednesday night...odd
  18. you all need to increase your bladder control http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif we were in line to get in at 8:45 and i didnt have to go until the middle of the 1st...in the ballpark! back to the issue, we were told a couple years back that we either had to leave or go in to the game in about the 3rd-4th inning. we stayed in the lot were never approached again. we were going to buy tickets at the gate and the crew was down 7-0 by the time we started thinking about going in.
  19. it goes beyond that incident russ. that was just frosting on the cake. i totally understand what they did with this years opening day tickets...i just dont agree with the manner they handled it. my 07 opening day order was never processed, and nobody contacted me...after getting email confirmation that they received the order. they then tried to hijack me into buying 07 season tickets in order to process my opening day group order. this year was just a debacle...i wont go further than that. as i have said before, i just dont think the ticket office was ready for what happened over the past year. as for the season ticket requests, i think that is exactly how they do it. they will hold your seats if you are a renewal, but for new orders and fans choice, it sure seems like it is first come first serve. not entirely related, but a strange ticket office story involving fans choice: in 06 my group had a full season terrace package. in 07 we only got a 20 game fans choice. since we ordered late, i asked if we could get our old seat location for the 20 games. they said that they were not availabe...which i understood assuming they were held back for a full season order. oddly enough, when we got our tickets in the mail, 2 of the 20 games were the exact location we had for full tickets in 06.
  20. the brewers ticket office has continually shown that they have no real interest in how long you have been a fan. money talks in their minds...not loyalty. my experiences with them have been 50/50 over the past few years. some good experiences...some utterly ridiculous experiences.
  21. it wasnt overly warm in milwaukee today. it is all relative anyways, right? i was wearing shorts, but that is just out of principle. i was in the shade in my backyard and it was a little chilly still.
  22. my guess (and it is solely a guess) is that there is more cost associated with a HD broadcast. i can see no other reason why all games wouldnt be if the equipment is there.
  23. sorry. didnt score any this year...didnt try real hard either
  24. i have this problem with my washer and leveling it solves the problem. for some reason the washer wont stay in one place though.
  25. i love this "mistake" from that link above: "The film uses Milwaukee County stadium, instead of Cleveland Stadium, as the home of the Indians." really?
