  1. she is just telling you they are cooler so you dont freak out when you see the receipt. dont believe the propaganda http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif honestly never heard this before
  2. work for MPS seriously. SS jobs are very hard to come by around here. i taught HS SS in MPS for 3 years. great pay (for teachers), fantastic benefits. you do have to live in the city within one year though. if you really want/need a job, you cannot totally shun them. EDIT: if you dont have one, get an econ license. they are like gold to many districts. everyone seems to be looking for someone with an econ cert.
  3. agree about the radio, but i wouldnt call it a beautiful day at least in southeast wisconsin. kind of wet here.
  4. make sure you have socks. i took my little girl a couple weeks ago and it slipped my mind that she was wearing crocs. they wouldnt let her in the terrace play area without socks. i am convinced it is a ploy to sell more $8 pairs of socks at the fan zone. crocs are just as dirty as socks in my opinion. also note that there is a height limit. the 7 year old might be too tall

  6. i would like to meet him for the autograph. there was just an article in SI about the guy that caught mcgwire's 70th and that is what he held out for. cards said no way to him. strange.
  7. my wife was there earlier in the day/evening and didnt mention anything about it. maybe she was there too early?
  8. this should be all you really need to see. the guys on the field think he is good. they are generally closer to the action than the fans
  9. the strange part is that most of the junk comes from how the ball is held. i could throw some mean pitches without having to torque too much
  10. as i was saying http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  11. when i first saw this i thought i missed a new woot-off all day today. nice haul
  12. based on where you play the games (wick, sijan, etc) the county parks have nothing to do with the league. the fields, league, and umpires are all hired and managed by Milwaukee Recreation, which is a division of MPS. the next time you are at one of the fields, look at the signs by the street. they will say "Milwaukee Recreation" on them. (BTW i work for the County Parks;))
  13. these look like the kind of guys that brewers batters have made look like cy young in the past. hopefully we are past those days
  14. new TH entry: http://blogs.jsonline.com/brewers/archive/2008/07/06/sabathia-deal-is-close.aspx
  15. someone on one of the indians boards just said: "I mentioned before, we need to trade cc to the breweres for their top scouts. It is a simple idea."
  16. or it would be a way to skip manny and reduce his innings http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  17. TH seems to be conceding that something is going to happen. it just seems that nobody has all the pieces yet. please dont make us wait until tomorrow!
  18. random side note: sabathia is listed as the starter for the indian's next game on indians.com i know it wont switch until an announcement is made, but it will be interesting to see if/when it changes.
  19. no limit. also, if you right click back after you vote...rather than clicking the vote again link, you do not have to uncheck the e-mail options...unless you want thousands of mlb.com emails.
  20. olney basically just re-hashed the article on the internet. i think we can all sleep safely tonight. as long as a deal is made by monday morning, a tuesday start at miller park is possible.
  21. the E/I thing does indeed stand for "educational and informative". i remember reading something about this sometime back where all stations have to offer a certain number of hours of "educational and informative" programming each week/month/etc. here is the authority on it...wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E/I
  22. isnt it the buyer's responsibility to have the correct address on paypal? especially if they pay with paypal
  23. and to think that my fraternity in college cleaned our lines once a year...in good years! once i try swamp pee, i will be able to make a comparison http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  24. the july 4 ticket deal was another deal tied to the number of runs the brewers scored in atlanta. i cant find the deal on the website, but i remember seeing something about it in an email. EDIT: this is next to the number of tickets box if you click on tickets for the 7/4 game "The Brewers Score You Score promotion for the Loge Outfield will be available for purchase online at 9am the day after each game." DOUBLE EDIT: found a link to the promo http://mlb.mlb.com/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20080620&content_id=2968123&vkey=pr_mil&fext=.jsp&c_id=mil
  25. this is so true. i got my car stolen a few years back. random crap like CD's stolen, but the bag with ping irons and titleist woods was still in the trunk...unreal.
