  1. getting around 4k back (no need to preach to me about how it is my money, etc...we just withheld way too much) so my list is pretty good: adding heat to the basement and fixing some stuff there to make it more live-able...it is partially finished paying back some money we owe to the in-laws saving some money for the spring to do some much needed landscaping and renovations in the yard getting the wife a new cell phone...maybe one for myself spending what is left over on a new tv for me! hopefully this is all done by march 20...the ncaa's on a nice new tv will be fantastic! edit: this thread must have been a good omen for me. i filed in late january and the "where's my refund" site kept showing nothing. i just checked it and my refund should be out by the end of the month!
  2. have to agree with this. different strokes for different folks.
  3. the gameday host is worthless.
  4. there are tickets available from the ticket office still. and if it is anything like a basketball game, there will be plenty of tickets available outside the arena
  5. i had heard some pretty solid cracks in my 3 years living on the lake...but nothing i could ever feel. a frozen lake mendota is all kinds of entertainment.
  6. south end of bay view
  7. we are looking to add some ductwork to our finished basement so that it is warmer than the current 48 degrees. anyone have any recommendations of people to call...or not to call? i have had one place come out to do some service before, but i am looking to get a couple estimates.
  8. i was thinking the same thing. and they arent the overly nicest neighborhoods in milwaukee either. the east side drops off rather quickly once you cross humboldt
  9. then we get an "economic stimulus package" and people can spend their $600 check on a prince fielder bobblehead http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  10. sounds about right! rightomac...what do you do in the parks?
  11. basically hawing. russ...it is surprising how many successes there have been/were/are at tech. there were some really great kids there. i think they took the road you described. fairly smart but could afford to screw around a little. just like normal HS kids. you just never hear about the good kids on the news
  12. i taught for MPS for 3 years, my wife has taught for 6 (still does) and i dont think either of us can explain exactly what a "banking day" is. it basically means teachers sit in stupid meetings for half the day, sit around and "plan" for the other half, and kids have the day off http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  13. for $5,000 i would sell lots of things. i think about selling my prince, then decide not to. i am sure at some point it will have no real value to me...and by that time it will probably be worth like $5.
  14. this is not a "rebate" or a "loan" folks. it is an "economic stimulus package" lets get our phrases right here! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif either way, it is a nice little chunk of change to get right before we have child #2.
  15. ebay. get the generic stuff for a fraction of the cost. i got a wall plug (or travel charger if you prefer the apple talk) for $5 ($0.01 plus $4.89 shipping) on ebay a couple weeks back.
  16. can you sign me up for this in advance?? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  17. electrify the tree somehow?
  18. if it wasnt for callers, jim rome's show would be great. he really is a great interviewer and the e-mails are unbelievable at times.
  19. drink better liquor. don't know if it myth or not, but apparently cheap liquor has more "toxins" in them. i have actually noticed this is person when drinking cheap gin versus good gin (yes...good gin does exist!) if that fails, go for grease. grease does wonders for a hangover IMO
  20. -8?!?!? sign me up.
  21. the next four games are on tv...at least in milwaukee 11/27 duke (espn) 12/3 wofford (espn2) 12/8 marquette (espn2) 12/12 uwm (tw32 i think) i am excited to finally see them...especially at cameron!
  22. if it is like anywhere else, be prepared to miss the tip and you will likely score something fairly reasonable. good luck
  23. i guess you could say the game was "on" http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif finally get to see them tuesday...way too long of a wait.
  24. got a large chunk of shopping done online. none of the doorbusters appealed to me. i kind of wonder what percentage of things bought yesterday were gifts and what were people shopping for themselves?
  25. i would probably be interested, but i dont do much more than pitch...at least i havent in the past 5 years.
