I ate too many brats at Bratfest today...4... I'm working the event as the event manager, so I have 3 more days of it. Also, there may have been a Hawing sighting at Bratfest, but I'm not sure.

I was actually thinking about this the other day. Here's another one that I may rate as a worst, with the benefit of hindsight... 12-20-1999: Fernando Vina was traded by the Milwaukee Brewers to the St. Louis Cardinals for Juan Acevedo and Eliezer Alfonzo. (I realize he was traded because Ron Belliard had a great season filling in for Vina when he was hurt, but we all know how Belliard ended up while a Brewer) The Cirillo trade still irks me, and I'll never forget the fans reaction when it was announced Greg Vaughn was traded.

Working at the World's Largest Bratfest for 8+ hours...

I stepped out for an hour or so, and I was hoping this would all be over when I got back. Nope...

I've got lots to vent about, but I never do it... Why can't any of our starters make it past the 6th inning? Why don't the pitchers challenge the hitters more? Instead, they nit-pick around the corners, trying to get hitters to chase all the time, and they end up walking batters. That, or they get so far down in the count, they have no choice but to throw them meatballs. I'm tired of the way our hitters try to swing for the fences at every at-bat. There's a reason why so many hitters are near the .200 line. Why isn't the coaching staff working with hitters? Do they think that they don't need to teach hitters anymore because they are now in the majors? Or they don't need taught because they all had a good season last year? "They'll get everything sorted out...it's early." It's not early anymore. It's almost June, and the Brewers are in last place. LAST PLACE!!! I'm beginning to think last year was a fluke. I should say, last April and May was a fluke. This team has too much potential talent to be in last place. How do they tap into that potential? Or maybe, they are who they are, and they will never be anything more. I don't know...I'm a very frustrated Brewer fan right now.

I like it, but I wish they could change it around a bit. If they keep the "natural rival" games, I think it should be one series per year, alternating between cities rather than two series per year. I also would like it if they could rotate divisions like the NFL does (I realize this is not possible due to the unbalanced divisions). Plus, why haven't the Brewers played the White Sox in 10 years?

I have a '95 car, and it has gone down a lot. BUT...I found out that my steering gear is wearing out, so I have some lag in the steering wheel before the wheels turn. Maybe you have a similar problem.

Yeah, that chicken/Peter thing is quite annoying. I don't need to watch Peter fighting a chicken for 5 minutes. Once they are done, you forget where the story was. In my opinion, not much beats seasons 3-10 of the Simpsons. I also like the first 3 seasons of Family Guy. Being a fan of both, I still say the Simpsons beats Family Guy for me.

I just heard from a friend of mine who lives in Ft. Myers. He has also been hearing rumors that the Brewers are looking at moving to Florida. Just like other posters have said, the Red Sox are also looking at Sarasota. It sounds like the Brewers will have to wait until the Red Sox make any decisions before they move forward with anything. (as a side note, I'm not sure if this is an opinion or has some substance, but my friend says a Red Sox move is unlikely...I think it's opinion though.)

Prior to last night's game vs. the Cards, the last time the Brewers won by more than 3 runs was April 6 (won 7-0 vs. the Giants).

I was in 423, so I think this guy was in 424. He was wayyyy up, too.

Ha Ha! I was in the section next to this guy when this was going on (happened while T-Bow was imploding and Stetter got him out of it...vs. the Marlins). I thought they got to 6 cups. It was hysterical! Edit: I just watched the video in its entirety, and they show a small percentage of the time these people were doing this. This went on for a couple of innings, and I know at one point, they had 6 stacked, and they were stacked for several minutes before an attempt at a 7th.

Mark me down as the third who has the tornado dream. In mine, I often see several tornadoes in the distance, and wake up right when it will hit me. I did have one the other night where the tornado did hit, but I didn't actually see the tornado.

I'm going to step away from baseball and say the Vancouver Canucks. I loved the "flying skate" logo they used back in the 80's and most of the 90's. The current logo doesn't make any sense to me.

The dog track has been closed for over 10 years, I believe. My grandparents live about an hour from Waterloo/Cedar Falls, so I'm through there a lot. I'll echo what others said...it's not in the boonies, but it won't be an overly exciting city to live in. Cedar Falls does have Northern Iowa University, so that could offer some stuff to do. They've had a pretty good basketball team the past few seasons. Once you get outside Waterloo...boonies. The drive from Dubuque to Waterloo is very, very boring.

I had a 1990 Buick Regal sport. It had some issues...engine went 2 weeks after getting it (the dealer helped cover the cost to replace), bad water pump, and finally, it burned up in a car fire right after high school.

To all allergy sufferers out there...what is the best medicine to take to get rid of symptoms? I'm sure I'm not the only one, but my spring allergies have been kicking my butt this week, especially now that leaves are popping out on the trees. Right now, I'm taking a Claritin every day and have some nose spray, but neither have been able to tackle the suffering that is going on right now.

I'm glad you suggested this, because I was going to say the same thing. Since the Madison softball team is sort of co-sponsored, I would like to have something from Brewerfan.net to put on our shirts (our other sponsor is getting us shirts with their name on it). Instead of spending a ton of money to get additional screen printing, I was wondering if there was a patch we could get to sew on our sleeve, or if it would be possible to get one. (Mods, PM me if this may be a possibility)

I'm going to vouch for the current location. First of all, Miller Park isn't that far from downtown. It's only about 5-10 minutes from the middle of downtown, and it's a really easy drive to the park. Any hotel/business development that may have occurred downtown because of the stadium could have still happened with the current location of the stadium. I'm not totally convinced that tons of new business would have popped up because of the stadium alone. Also, downtown Milwaukee isn't in horrible shape economically. It's bounced back after a downturn back in the early 1990's. Grand Avenue has higher occupancy, people have moved back downtown, and the Midwest Airlines Center has helped spur development. Baseball won't fill hotels that often. Sure, there are times when people come up from St. Louis or come from Minnesota, but there are plenty of hotels for these people to stay at. If anything, hotel development should occur to help bolster the convention center. I'd argue that the stadium has helped spur some economic growth. I'd argue that the Target, Menards, Chili's, etc... just south of the stadium has been helped by the stadium. There are also lots of bars on Blue Mound and National that get lots of game-day business. Also, as trivial as it sounds, parking is a pretty big issue. Imagine it's July 3...Summerfest is in full swing, the fireworks are about to go off, and there is a Brewer game downtown. Where do people park? Yeah, there may only be 21 days where the Summerfest grounds are in use, but those events take up tons of parking. If the stadium was downtown, the team wouldn't be able to take in as much parking revenue. Also, think how easy it is to get in and out of the stadium. Yeah, there is traffic to wait for getting out, but for all intents and purposes, it doesn't get much easier. Also, think of the nightmare that would have occurred with so game traffic trying to get downtown while the Marquette Interchange has been under construction (granted, this hasn't been a big hassle to locals, but to out-of-towners). So, obviously I'm happy with it being out in the middle of nowhere.

The Brewers will no longer be supplanted by the Bucks on FSN. Being outside of Milwaukee with no access to Extra Innings, I hated the Bucks being on TV over the Brewers. Bye, Bye, Bucks and your losing ways. Hello Brewers and your (hopefully) winning ways!

A series win means a winning road trip. A series loss means a losing road trip. I'm not saying this is "must win", but think about how huge it would be to win the first of four 9+ game road trips, especially considering how they struggle on the road quite a bit. Lets hope the top of the rotation pitches like they should and the offense comes alive in a hitter's park.

I'm a self-proclaimed geography nerd (and history nerd), but the only geographical claim I have is that I've been to the four corners. I'm 14 counties short of being to all 72 counties in Wisconsin. I'm such a nerd that I routinely study maps. I take the atlas or gazetteer or Google maps or something and look at them. I love highways and transportation systems and all that fun stuff. I should have been a cartographer...
