  1. I'll be content with 8-8 over the next 16...... 18-13, especially against tough opponents, puts us on pace for 96 wins.
  2. Sound investments and compound interest makes the 30-40 million look better too.
  3. Switch Moose to 3B and Shaw back at 2B......just feels and looks better. Watching Moose turn a DP or try to throw from his knees after diving for a ball..... just doesn't look right for a guy at 2B. Shaw looked much more sure handed and natural at 2B in his couple months at the position; plus, Moose/Shaw are closer in ability at 3B than 2B.
  4. It's good business too. He'll continue to get great press and major props for this in the coming months and year.
  5. If he doesn't perform or gets significantly hurt, he'd make a few million instead of 40 to 50 million.
  6. I don't know why this is such a bad deal. The player is guaranteed, emphasis on guaranteed, $35 million.
  7. Aguilar gets a couple weeks yet before change need to be made. Drop him to 6th or 7th against a bad matchup? I'm ok with that too.
  8. What is troublesome is that the 2019 pen wouldn't be a major concern if Woodruff or Burnes were still there and Anderson was in the rotation. So far, this would have probably been the better play. Yet, long term? I don't know.
  9. Tonight......This is the best lineup the Brewers have EVER had! 82? Gantner, Moore. And Money takes the group as a whole back a bit. 07? 12? 79? 80? I'll take tonight's lineup top to bottom.
  10. I cannot see 2019 without the Cubs being somewhat good. I refuse to think of them as a bad team until they are mathematically eliminated. They have too much talent and payroll to be anything resembling bad this season.
  11. Great win, especially nice when you can score one and win. A few thoughts.... *** I am all for skipping young Burnes or Peralta in the rotation when we have an off day. This would be Burnes turn. I do not want throwing too many innings with young arms to be an issue in September. Perhaps spot starts by Anderson or a minor leaguer might limit innings, as well. I feel somewhat similarly with Woodruff, as well. *** I was wondering why CC set up the rotation like he did. I get why he started with Chacin. Did he want Freddy to face the Reds or was it more not to face the Cubs? Perhaps he wanted Davies to face the Cubs. Or was it all about the first series with the Cardinals? I don't know. Interesting to think about, though. *** Hader should be good to go all games against the club if only throwing out be inning, or are we going to play this more conservatively and limitbhim to two?
  12. Let's have this conversation in 2021.
  13. Braun has been the best hitter in the history of the franchise. If Yelich puts up 2007-2012 Braun numbers, we'll all be happy with that while he is in Milwaukee.
  14. Immaculate innng is the header for this game, no doubt. Even more, how many of these immaculate innings had 7 swinging strikes and only 1 foul ball. We are talking rare to the max!
  15. The more relatable question might be, "How much more money am I willing/allowed to spend on Brewers tickets."
  16. Immaculate inning with one foul ball..... has that ever happened in Brewers history? Did Hader do it last year?
  17. If signing Kimbrel to a one or two year deal is option A, we are fairly sure that that tire has been kicked. What I surely hope is happening is exploring numerous other options via trade. Now, what would it take to get a top 100 reliever in April? We would have to be willing to part with respected prospects (Ray and change) not only to a team with little hope (Orioles, White Sox?) this season, the reliever would probably have to be at the end of his current contract; otherwise, why trade him?. Does anyone have knowledge of a few other talented back end types that would fit this description?
  18. Stuff that I probably dwelled on or oddly popped into my head too many times over the first two days of the 2019 Brewers season. So far, I like Moose better at 3B and Shaw at 2B, especially because it seemed to work well in 2018. I still don't understand the logic in switching them. Sign me up for the switch back. Grandal drops a lot of balls (and strikes). Anderson in the rotation and Burnes or Woodruff in the pen makes more sense right now because we all need a safer late inning path in games we are winning. Health and tempers are on the line. Cain is a walking injury. Too bad I cannot tell what ones are actually legitimate. The highs of Opening Day compared to a loss after Game 2 are quite different, aren't they?
