  1. To do what? Be a GM elsewhere? He has a wonderful opportunity here.
  2. Better for you to call it a fan career now, cuz I hate to tell you this…..we have been overachieving….yes… for the last 6 or 7 years, comparatively to other small market teams. We aren’t the Rays, but we have had it pretty good. Division championships, 2018 NLCS, 4 straight playoffs… no WS and frustrating playoff losses sure, but compared to 1983-2006ish, there is no comparison. Yes, I am frustrated with a few aspects of the team too, but perspective helps.
  3. I like the trade. Like others said, and this is obvious to all, the Santana and Canha trades makes us better. Getting upset because it does not do enough? I can’t fathom this because is there a trade out there that would help us dramatically? Is there a great bat or great pitcher even out there to rent?On top of it, The prospect loss was minimal, actually less than I thought it would be. I like the move. I was unbelievably disappointed, beside myself at last year’s deadline. No hitters were picked up then, and our bullpen was made worse. Santana and Canha make sense and addresses awful OPS at a couple spots.
  4. .So a contact hitter hitting 4th.
  5. Just an odd move.
  6. Or bat him first and Yelich and Contreras can bat somewhere between 2-4. Not sure how this move is anywhere near normalor productive now…..even for his own development. If I’m him, I’m feeling like I have added pressure to not just hit but hit with power.
  7. Of course glad he is hitting….just guessing cleanup is the last place he would put himself in the order.
  8. We bring up contact bat, rookie, and we put him at cleanup? Literally, the last place I would put him. Does CC want him stressing about power…pressure at bats…. I mean, he didn’t hit .700 at AAA.
  9. Pass on Jimenez. Unless you like the oft injured. And we have OF prospects galore. And please no Burger, unless you like Adames’ swing.
  10. I think I would like to see the Cubs swept, even if that means us losing the division lead. Reds 4- Cubs 0
  11. More revenue sharing through TV deals is coming, I imagine, with these regional TV deals floundering…I agree with the salary cap too, but that is likely not going to happen any time soon, More shared revenue and a salary floor seem a better route.
  12. I guess I want him at SS next year, but Turang is penciled in for 2025. No way we can throw major long term $ at him… make him a coach, but please no multi year deal.
  13. Glad you are sure…. I am not. And if he is up, give him daily at bats at DH.
  14. And last year’s MLB #’s… with our MLB team. Can’t really compare Voit’s #s with Hiura’s 2023 MLB #s….. you can compare Voit’s 2023 #s with Hiura’s 2022 #s though.
  15. Feels like it if he hasn’t gotten called up yet…. Maybe they are keeping him as the secret weapon for the big showdown.
  16. Almost as much as our DH hot potato decision makers… let’s try everyone else and others outside the organization BEFORE the guy with the good numbers in MLB 2022 that we actually thought enough of to give $2.2 million….and then he outperforms those expectations and still cannot get a call…, Always some thing. And the argument of value now is way different than after ST when rosters are being cut and squeezed already and he was awful at a 2.2 mil pickup. Must be nice to hide behind management at every turn and decision and not think for yourself. A good bandwagon soldier.
  17. He is closing in on 50 SBs as well. Putting him and Frelick at top of the order could add a spark…..
  18. AAA to start 2024 and if he excels a call up to MLB late 2024 season. It’s why he was pushed in the first place. He’s on the track now. Preaching patience with his development doesn’t make sense now when he is at AA at 19.
  19. So Brewers sign him for $2.2 million to seemingly hit for Nashville for the entire 2023 season and be their 8th back up at DH or 1B. Great plan.
  20. And like said previously, if he was sooo bad and sooo down on the pecking order, why even sign him? He does really well, better than expectations, and just sits in AAA while others fail here at 1B/DH.. Such a unique situation….in 99.9% of other situations, if you do well you get promoted. And If you are not promoted, it’s usually because you are either rather young or others above you are doing well too. In our situation, MLB DH does incredibly bad and Hiura does incredibly good. And 1B had its issues. On top of it in this situation, the team did not have to sign Hiura. They were not stuck with him and his contract.
  21. Then take 2022 MLB stats. If AAA means nothing, then compare those.
  22. Not really. I am taking him as he is, warts and all. I am not calling for him to be our regular 1B. His defense is suspect, even though he has no errors at 1B this year. I hated watching him play 2B. I am taking him as a DH and a spot replacement/start at 1B or LF. What is happening is that others are listing warts (defense, Krate, hbp, stats since injury, 2020/2021 stats) to support team’s reason for him staying down. Still, I am saying warts and all, Hiura STILL deserves to be up here helping us at DH. Most love the warts it seems. Those are littered here all over. I post his actual full season season stats as a counter to all this and I am the one missing context? Disagree strongly.
  23. You could split stats like this for every player in every season. And we all know this.
