  1. I doubt we get Hader for the drama alone. Who closes? Would CC be allowed, yep allowed, to use him in 8th or for multiple innings? The ol Bridge has burned on this one.
  2. Black 2-4 tonight with a double and 43 SB.
  3. His bat is better than Adames, and Adames hits 3rd for us. And there is a DH spot. Benny Hill.
  4. Keston 4-5 tonight. Winker has 3 hits in July. Yeah, those responses by CC are sad and depressing. When a DH spot is just sitting there on a silver platter for a guy who excelled at DH last year, and against righties, and is hitting lefties this year, with less strikeouts, in a month where he mashes MLB pitching (.973 OPS), I sit back in my chair and play Benny Hill music. Maybe Winker is a relative? Something personal? Hitting poor team. Low bar. Borderline crazy.
  5. The range is much better with Miller there, absolutely. But preferably we need a big bat at first and that isn’t Miller. He could start at 3B or 2B for us, which is saying nothing. Just want a bigger bat at first, and a call up or the trade deadline should bring us that easily.
  6. Didn’t matter how bad Cutch hit righties last August/Sept…. He played.
  7. 4-6 with a HR Tues. night…. Could even lead him off, ha! The state of our offense….. is Braun available?
  8. Just crazy…. No way for numerous reasons and I will save everyone time without listing them since you all know them.
  9. I expect Adames to hit .250 with some power… .750 OPS to be middle of order bat that plays daily. Otherwise, bat him 7th in this offensive deficient lineup and even pinch hit him late at times. Hardy wasn’t much worse when he was sent down to AAA in 2009 with no great other option at SS.
  10. Adames is a .200 hitter. And he hits 3rd. So pathetic. Hiura, Black, Frelick, rentals, and most others on roster deserve spot more. Same with Winker.
  11. Teheran gets a couple more opportunities with no Miley and no Woody and no one banging on the door but Rea.
  12. Absolutely. Bringing back Burnes, Woody, Adames, Tellez, Williams, etc would be costly… definitely watching bottom line.
  13. RF a problem too…. .559 OPS. 2nd worse is Cleveland at .594. So Black, Hiura, and Frelick could, mind you, could easily be brought up to play a combo of RF, 1B, and DH.
  14. And much cheaper next year…. Like 1/20th the cost.
  15. He hits 3rd in this mess. Still maddening.
  16. Adames, Winker, Miller, Tapia…..that’s #3-6 on a first place team.
  17. Not soon with Woody or Miley, I’m afraid. And really what will they look like coming back. I’m for trading some quality prospects to get a quality, controlled pitcher that will go along with Peralta and Ashby after 2024. Moreover, I don’t feel like gambling with our SP this season, especially if more SP go down with injury. Let’s get our SP lined up for the next few years with a get this deadline.
  18. Before the season, I would have the OF ranked…Chourio, Frelick, Mitchell, and Wiemer. Now, I would still keep them the same. Perhaps Wiemer moves up at season’s end. I know each has had issues or injuries, but I still have high hopes for all, knowing I’d take 2 of 4 panning out as regulars on playoff quality teams.
  19. I hope we are looking for controllable SP beyond 2024… pretty much when most of the rotation (Burnes, Woody, Lauer, Houser) is gone. it also gives us legit rotation, especially with Woody coming back in August (hopefully). I have no interest in hoping the backend holds up when we could get quality now. With Cards and Cubs down, and CC potentially gone, all for pushing it this year. And with govt $ up for grabs with stadium improvements, it makes all the sense in the world to make playoffs in 2023. Yes, it will cost us, but trading Burnes and Adames after this season should fill in some cracks across the board, as well, in minors. Also, we have sticks in Hiura and Black that could or should be given a shot this year. Tiring of half the lineup with .220 avg. .600 or so OPS. Let’s see what we have. So a lot of moving parts, yes.
  20. Put him on the Burnes/Woodruff plan. We need to take shots when we have shots. We have a shot this year and he could be 6th/ 7th inning guy. Development for elite arms like him could be challenging him in relief at MLB level rather than racking up more inning late in a AA season.
  21. Call up in September, yes.
  22. 11 errors.. very questionable there. Gotta think 1B is a possibility, only if he is the 6’2 or so and not the 5’ 10” that mlb.com has him at.
  23. Sounds like a plan….also, huge ups for including a Nolan Bratt post! Your stock has reached a new high. Yeah, I’m all for both Hiura and/or Black right now. Need offense.
