Buy there are reasons to deal him. Yes, of course. There are reasons, plural. Eating salary? That money would ideally and obviously be used elsewhere to shore up the team. I have to say this apparently. Long term they would be set up even better without Yelich’s contract holding them back (yes) in 2026 and 2027 for other players. And Chourio might/could/should replace Yelich’s stats in the next five seasons anyways. Not to mention the multitude of other promising outfielders we have that can be used on the cheap for a while. And again, I don’t think it will happen, especially if we are looking to seriously compete for the division in 2024… but it is a possibility. And if there was a time to do it, now is the time with CC, Burnes, Woodruff, Adames likely/probably being gone soon in a possible transition year. And guys are traded all the time with no trade clauses….of course.

Winker decision ALL YEAR is Soup/Marcum….Einhorn is Finkel, Finkel is Einhorn. The playoff pinch hits are just the rotten cherry on top. Throw in Hiura and that garbage and the whole way the team manages the DH position, and the batting lineup decisions begin to pop up regularly… Winker/Adames/Rowdy as #2,3,4 half the year? Bring up Frelick to hit clean up? The guy is up there hacking instead of playing his game to just hit ball hard and get on base,… going to knee on ground in Game 2. I would prefer CC stay put, but there are question marks.

The total shake your head no is that the Brewers have NO REASON to trade him. The 100 million dollar plus savings of his contract….just insert Chourio for Yelich…would be one reason. Ha, they could close the AmFam discussion tomorrow with this trade and the team kicking in another 100 million! Baseball in Milwaukee for another generation til at least 2050! And the fact that the team is as loaded in the outfield with prospects as they have ever been is another. And like Turbo said, that contract is not going to end well. Injuries or even just natural aging will not get this Yelich in 3 or 4 years. Just to clarify, I do not think this is going to happen, but there are definite reasons to have it happen that would potentially help the team long-term (not 2024).

Equivalent moves are Suppan and Marcum STARTING Game 4 and Game 6 when 99.9% of fans would say anyone else.

Burnes, Adames….probable trades Yelich- possible trade to get out of that contract with several cheap but talented options in OF coming up. Woodruff- I don’t know… dropping big coin for a year with that shoulder? Maybe a non-tender? Counsell- Odds, I think, is that he does not return for whatever the reason…..and there are many possible reasons.. Big changes… I think the Hot Stove started a few weeks ago. This is going to be a Hotter Stove. Both excited and extremely concerned. Still concerned Winker has been penciled in as our #2 hitter next year.

Never would have thought this a week ago, but....there are Brewers fans that want CC gone. His 1-9 recent playoff record adds fuel to the fire. Playing Winker doesn't help. I like him and hope he stays, but he might be thinking about leaving now instead of being told to leave in a couple years if or when the team turns south in the standings. No Burnes and Woodruff could do that. Cool he is from Milwaukee and has done outstanding here, but it would not feel great for him to be told to go. It might be why he is thinking of leaving now to spend time with the family or grab the bag somewhere else. Plus, if he leaves now, Milwaukee would gladly welcome him back almost any time that the Brewers are looking for a future manager hire. The bridge would not be burned here.

Me too… I’m glad all those guys were picked up to some degree. Still, I cannot believe there wasn’t a place for Hiura at DH at several points this season like there was for Winker and the other 20 plus guys who played the position this season.

Spoiled…. We have had it light years better than most teams over the last 7 years. Meaningful baseball. Right in the thick of big time games. Playoff losses sting, and playoff record matters… but come now. So many teams have had just a fraction of what we have enjoyed during CC’s time here.

Look at that big inning for Arizona…. Bloop hit, broken bat grounders, seeing eye singles. It was the difference tonight.

Winker was PH for us in the playoffs same day Hiura was freed. That is the backward way of Hiura and Winker 2023. A total and complete waste… mismanagement at its utter low amidst a generally very good year.

THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY was to have Winker up the last five games to actually see if he could actually hit MLB pitching after a long time away. He could have played everyday!!! It is also crazy that he is even on the team considering how horrible he has been hitting primarily second (unreal) half of the year. Obviously, this is a manager's gut decision because it is not practical or logical based on how he has hit all year. And I feel for a better options like Huira, Black, Rob Deer, Yuni, etc...

It's the only option... unless we hear he could be back for training camp in 2024.

And if he is out for most of next season too, I think we have seen the last of Woodruff. He shouldn't be given $10 million to pitch a couple of months. No arby... just release. Non-tender.

And all the talk about rested bullpen... whatever. Most of the Brewers can go three days in a row, if needed. They have had a picture perfect last week or so. Some need to throw a ball 20-30 times tonight.

I think it is incredibly fair. Win more and get a bye. Brewers also get potentially three more home playoff games than the best two teams. That is quite the benefit to worst division winner and best wild card team. And when people used to complain about a one game playoff after 162 games, I could understand. Losing a three game series at home? Nope. It’s more than fair for #3/4 seeds.

And why not have him hit daily the last few games if he is making the playoff roster? No MLB pitching for weeks/months? And he is our left handed bat off bench?

Turang being allowed to hit… Bad base running by Adames andYelich Awful pitching by best pitcher and like our fifth best pitcher this year Winker batting there….and making the roster even. And being allowed to keep hitting after getting hurt… and not having him hit live MLB putching the last five games.. and and and…and letting this goof play and hit #2 for half the season…. And Hiura
