    Hiura has not made an error at 1B in over 100 innings there this year. Hiura hit .949 OPS as DH last year in 98 PA. Last year’s MLB numbers make him our 3rd best hitter this year. Hiura arguably has the best hitting numbers in the entire system this year at AAA. For every other player in the system it seems (except Winker), performance matters. And it’s not like there isn’t a carved out role for him to play… he can DH! He could even play some 1B while a Tellez is out. Just end the madness. Bring him up or cut the guy already.

    Smart baseball men make mistakes. And this is one. Whether it’s not playing Hiura, letting Winker DH regularly for four months, or something else, our DH spot has been a dumpster fire. And this DH position has been a problem for going on two years now. And yes, the organization is without excuse for this. Random fans on brewerfanatic would have managed this position better.

    I’d like to see this lineup. Defensive replacement opportunities late at 1B and 2B. Best hitting lineup all year, and it could be possible tomorrow. Then look to add trade deadline deals at 1B and/or RF. Frelick RF Monasterio 3B Yelich LF Contreras C Miller 2B Adames SS Black DH Hiura 1B Wiemer CF

    Taylor, Perkins, Anderson(hurt), Wiemer….. not great coverage offensively in RF or CF. Frelick had a great debut, but arguably he could have been 0-3 with seeing eye singles. I’m all for a rental with .780 OPS to fill 2023. Super great promise in OF from 2024-2028 with Yelich and just our prospects, though. I am ok with Wiemer sitting a bit more with Frelick up. Sure.

    Not a fan of using this guy as a trade chip. How many organizational corner infielders with MLB bats do have have or have had in the last, what, 12 years? Play him at 3rd or 1st. Honestly, I am really excited for our young lineup from 2024-2027. Lots of hitting prospects in OF, C (Quero), and Black. And the SPEED!

    No reason to… agreed. But he did more than enough to get DH at bats throughout the year, especially late, especially against right handed batters. Stupid and stubborn.

    How much hate? I think there is very little here. Sending him down is not a huge negative to him long term. Short term, it could actually help him at the plate. On the other hand To the positive, he needs to play against lefties with an .897 OPS

    Not for any significant trades when Rowdy/Hiura/Black could seemingly fill those spots.

    I’ve watched most games and haven’t seen this. He missed a few scoops, some crucial. But his range is good and it should be for a middle infielder. His stretch isn’t Cecil Cooper, but it does t jump out to me as odd or different. If we are to complain about him, it should be with the bat comparatively to other fIrst basemen.
