  1. The Brewers missed the postseason by one game in 2022. Hader wouldn’t have made a one game difference?
  2. So what…..still a lot. 1/8th of payroll isn’t a lot? For a guy playing worse defense than what we got? Would arguably be our 3rd or 4th best OF? We obviously COULD afford him and make him our 3rd highest paid player. He would make us better or deeper, yes. Just not wise….3rd highest contract for aging OF having a down year. Worse defense. Taking ABs away from other guys like Frelick/Collins, both hitting well for last 7 weeks. And lock that in for four years.
  3. Of course $15 mil is a lot to the Brewers or any other small market team. Of course… still in the old days of 2025. The rest of the Brewers OF does not make that combined. You could use that nothing $15 mil to pay for the 2026 same guy Brewers OF…………about 1/8th of their payroll. And 30 plus is the downside of a baseball player’s career. Of course. If you have a hilltop and late 20’s (27-28ish) is the peak, 30 plus is on the downside of an average player’s career. Those are the years we would have Reynolds.
  4. I fear there is a reason most 98+ mph guy are relievers. The number of throws at that velocity, along with the very hard off speed stuff, leaves me not wanting to go long term here unless he wants to get set with a very team friendly deal. They have him for 6 or 7 years til he’s 30ish anyways….paying little until 2029.
  5. Oh, they do. But not with him….they jerked him around endlessly, even when performing well.
  6. Are you giving tips on not being condescending? Let me get my notepad. I just MEANT that there are several negatives to trading for Reynolds that were not being discussed. Reynolds would be a nice addition to the team, yes. The negative effects would be there short term and long, however. There are better trade options, imho.
  7. Reynolds checks about all the negatives for a small market team…. 1. In 30s and on Downside of his career 2. Large amount of $ per year 3. Large amount of years left on contract 4. Underperforming lately If he was a FA in 26 or 27, I would think much more deeply about this. Now it seems pointless. Older, expensive, long contract, meh year so far with definitely better defenders in the wings with Collins and Perkins.
  8. $80 milion for a few more years? And You know that number along with a negative WAR this season? How about our overall payroll? What’s that number for 2025? Respectfully, think this thru and ask yourself again if it makes sense if it is literally your money.
  9. Jose Ramirez for Made, MYers, Letson, and change…. Brewers would get a legit 3B/1B thru 2028 for roughly $78 million. The cost would be steep with a lack of big bat in MLB and a large hole seemingly since Molitor in Milwaukee. Start with elite Made and add a couple of promising arms to help Guardians reload.
  10. Arguably the best-positioned young talent we have ever had… - A second MLB caliber starting rotation in minors or bullpen (Henderson, Patrick, Gasser, Ashby, Hall, Rodriguez) - The most and highest ranked SS prospects ever in team history, all in top 100 lists (Made, Pratt, Pena) - A top catcher at MLB level AND at AAA (Contreras and Quero) - As a hitter/pitcher tandem, perhaps the most exciting young players in the game (Chourio/Miz) - The most team-controlled OF, as in seasons per contract (Chourio 7 and 2 CO, Frelick 5, Mitchell 4, Perkins 5, Yelich 4 and MO, Collins 7) -AAA and AA first half champs at Nashville and Biloxi; High A and A in second place at WI and Carolina
  11. The Brewers seem to be valuing small, short-armed guys who can get to the hard fastball. The value is that they also can play defense and steal a base..
  12. Stop is green and the go buttons are red? I’d switch those colors immediately to match the rest of civilization.
  13. Can’t imagine the get for give would be much anyways. The IL likely has scared some teams off too. And If we keep him, the big question might be if he is even on the playoff roster.
  14. This might be a time to put Durbin at #2 and slide everyone down a spot or two. Durbin has a better OBP for the YEAR than Yelich….and way better than about anyone lately. And he can steal bases much better than current #2 in Contreras. This lineup feels a lot better than having slower Contreras at 2, 21 year old Chourio at 4 and rather light hitting 2Ndhalf hitter Turang at 5 Frelick Durbin Chourio Yelich Contreras Bauers/Vaughn Collins Turang Ortiz
  15. My guess is that each game is 30-35,000….
  16. The PPI extra draft pick should have nothing to do with breaking opening day with the club….takes some incentive away from actually winning it.
  17. Arnold (and Stearns still) gets so much credit for this incredible run from 2017 til now in 2025. We are either in playoffs or a game out (2017 and 2022). Is there precedent? A+ Regular season……D Playoffs, though.
  18. No way they give him anything more than A Peralta like deal….too much risk with arms. Paying him about nothing thru 2028 looks good too.
  19. The contract. Makes this an easy no. He would easily make more than all of our OFs put together.and that’s including those on the IL and at AAA. We have a great looking OF for the next several years in talent and cost. Still believe in Mitchell….still think he can be good.
  20. I am all for a 6 man rotation...add Woodruff to save innings on our young guys.....well, save on everyone is fine too. Skip a start here and there. Play match up with the opponent a bit. I'm fine starting Hall or Ashby too when their innings are lacking. Brewers have Henderson in the wings too...so many seemingly good options.
