  1. The main reason we'll have to make a deal is that the Cubs and Cardinals will definately be adding players. We may be the best team in the division now, but a big stick or big arm out of the pen may seperate us from the pack. Teams that may deal with us: Baltimore, Toronto, Tampa, Minnesota, White Sox, Royals, Rangers, Marlins, Nats, Reds, San Diego, LA, and Colorado. Teams that are compatable: Tampa, Minnesota, CWS, Rangers, Nats, SD, LA, Colorado. *Tampa has the offense to trade Crawford and not miss him a whole lot. A possible deal for him? Hall, Bush, and Parra may get it done. *Minnesota and San Diego always have relievers that could be available. *Texas- Gagne cant be in their future. * Nats- Cordero would look nice. * Reds need pitching. Bush or Vargas and Jenks for Dunn? *White Sox need outfielders or a starter. Dye available? * LA has Bronxton. I want him closing here next year! Just a few ideas..... Removed excessive punctuation from subject line --bta
  2. Bill Hall needs to realize that he should try to hit the ball the other way. He has been terrible before he gets to 2 strikes. Then he actually tries to hit the ball somewhere other than left field. I have no problem with a lineup switch. Prince has had 10HR and 16 RBI in his last 17 games. 10 HR and only 16RBI? Hardy gets a well deserved rest. Who knows? Maybe Gwynn and Gross carved up McCarthy in AAA!
  3. Here's my idea... Jenks and Mench for Dye The Sox can use the platoon for the rest of the season and exercise Jenks 2008 contract if they want. Since I don't see DM extending Jenks through next year, we would be giving up expiring contract for expiring contract, right? The Sox get a much needed outfielder for next year, and we pick up a guy that could really help us for the rest of this year.
  4. Cabrera is a DH within 5 years. The guy is huge and getting bigger. First base would be an option, but not for us. I think the Yankees sign him, and put him at first.
  5. I think this is a golden opportunity to get Hall on track. DH him for a few days and see what happens. My lineup: Hart RF Gwynn CF Hardy SS Fielder 1B Braun 3B Jenkins LF Hall DH Estrada C Counsell 2B Wouldn't bother me if Counsell and Gwynn were flip flopped. It also wouldn't bother me if Corey play first for a few days to give Prince the DH duties.
  6. I could see a Graffy/Mench/Vargas for Buerhle deal. They would want some young pitching back. Move Bush to the pen and bring up Gallardo. Rotation: Sheets, Buehrle, Suppan, Cappy, Gallardo Pen: Coco, Turnbow, Shouse, Villanueva, Bush, Wise Looks pretty good to me.
  7. Alot of if's here, but here it goes: 1) Brewers falter a bit, end up a few games out of first at the trade deadline. 2) Yankees make a big move, but yet lack the pitching they need. The Yankees call and offer Hughes and another prospect for Sheets. What do you do?
  8. Guys, Peavy is slated to pitch versus Sheets Sunday. So I'm guessing that Miller plays Saturday, unless Ned wants to give Estrada back-to-back nights off. Then Miller plays Friday. Tonight is a big game, Penny is on for tomorrow. Let's win this series tonight.
  9. or arena football..... Stealing bases in this situation?
  10. Just what we need at the end of May, NFL Live on ESPN. Can't they figure it out? They are beating a dead horse big time! Suprised they aren't dissecting the draft again!!!
  11. No, but you can see fans attack players in the oufield in County Stadium.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  12. Dodger fans- Get to the game in the fourth inning, booing by the sixth!
  13. Jenks is so streaky, and he's hitting great in the 6-hole. Don't mess with it. We know Jenks put way too much pressure on himself when he hit 3rd or 4th, so if he's killing the ball hitting sixth, leave him there.
  14. Ausmus has the pitcher batting behind him. Pretty basic that he gets pitched around.
  15. His OBP isn't terrible, it just isn't alot higher than his average. We could have Ausmus, Moeller, Miller, or Jason Kendall starting.
  16. To be honest, the reason Estrada doesnt have RBI is that Hardy and Fielder are clearing the bases at an alarming rate. You won't have three guys in the same lineup get 130 RBI. Prince and JJ are on a pace of 130+RBI. When you have less RBI chances, you get less RBI.
  17. I remember when Scully and Garagiola were doing games on NBC every Saturday afternoon. I never missed the game of the week as a kid. Vin Scully tells great stories. He's like sitting and listening to your grandfather tell an old story. Except Vin's stories were true baseball stories and most of our grandfathers exaggerated everything about 10 times. Especially mine. This is why I miss my XM radio. Had two stolen and havent got a third yet. This conversation makes me want to go buy another. Atta boy, Johnny.
  18. If there's a runner on second and zero or one out, that weak grounder to second advances the runner. Which, by the way, would be the reason to hit Estrada second. I do like this lineup alot.
  19. Putting Estrada second would make him take a pitch or two. Also, he doesn't whiff much, perfect for a hit and run.
  20. My ideal lineup for tonight: Gwynn CF Estrada C Hardy SS Fielder 1B Hall 3B Jenks LF Weeks 2B Gross RF Just wishing the whole Graffy/Counsell era were over.....
  21. I have no problem with this lineup, as long as it isn't everytime a RHP hits the mound. You could see Rickie and Hall both pulling off the ball last night. Mench was too, but he doesn't play everyday. There is no way that management didn't tell these guys that Hamels has one of the best changeups in the game. It's pretty basic, hit the fastball the other way and you still may pull the changeup to left field. Billy's foot was in the bucket so bad, he couldn't reach the outside changeup. Weeks has been trying to pull everything ever since he had that mini- hot streak. If they don't start going the other way, there is no reason to pitch them inside. They both need today off, in a bad way.
  22. If you people want to jump off this ride this year, than jump. Sure, we lost 4 of 5. We aren't that bad. Before, we were 24-10. We weren't that good. Simple. We have the best team in the division. Bar none. Everybody loses 4 of 5. We could easily have won 4 of 5. The only game that wasn't a possible win was Sunday. No reason to jump off the bridge.
  23. Guess we knew turnbow should've been out of there....
  24. Can't figure it out. Why bring Shouse in before Utley? If anything, you start the inning with T-Bow, and use Shouse if needed. Stupid. Time to start looking for another reliever or 2.
