  1. Weren't those Brady's numbers in 2005?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif Actually, Crisp would be a good addition. But I think that people are underestimating DD's value. I also think that DD could net us time until Gallardo is ready. Deal him at the deadline for whatever our team's weakness is. My guess would be a couple of relievers. The Yanks and Red Sox will kill for a LH starter July 31st. If we could get Crisp for Turnbow and Gwynn, I'd do it. Remember, the Sox got him for Marte, straight up.
  2. You have to give up talent to get it. Don't make the trade without an extension. 2yr/27 mil DD is a free agent after this year. Some people think he will be dealt anyway. So Toronto is getting a one year rental also. I'm not high on Eveland. I think Villanueva, ZJ, Gallardo, and Rogers will all be better. Taking DD's salary away and maybe adding a cheaper starter might be the way to go anyway.
  3. Nomar could play third. Then you deal Hardy in a package for a stud OF. Hardy, Eveland, DD for Wells. Davis replaces Lilly and the Jays have a SS for the future. Weeks 2B Hart LF Nomar 3B Prince 1B Wells CF Hall SS Gross/FA RF Miller/ Rivera C Can I dream?
  4. From what his stats read, Richie can barely play first anymore. No way is the outfield an option. Prince would be a better leftfielder. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif
  5. Beginning to think that Sheff will DH alot. That outfield is huge. If they deal Thames, there might be room. But it would take way more than Jenks. Jenks and at least one minor leaguer.
  6. DD was so inconsistent this year. Most of the time, he couldn't find the strike zone. I think either Lee or Westbrook would be an improvement.
  7. I'd be more apt to sign Loretta and stick him at short. At least he'd hit .300. Graffy is a good player. Was great insurance for us. I just think we have better young talent than Tony G.
  8. How in the World are stolen bases a waste of time? Brewers in '06: * Brady Clark singles * No.2 hitter sacrifices * Lee flies out (Clark to third) * Jenks whiffs No runs scored With Roberts in '07 * Roberts singles * He steals second * No. 2 hitter moves him to third * Prince's fly ball scores him 1-0 Brewers That is ABC baseball. They call it that because it's elementary.
  9. If the Yanks trade Sheffield, pencil him in there. My prediction? Oakland or Anaheim.
  10. Trade Jenks for any effective SD reliever. Meredith would be #1 on my list. We'll have to eat half of that salary. Trade Hardy and Gross to KC for DeJesus. Solidifies CF for the future. Trade DD to Minnesota for Kubel Sign Schmidt at the before mentioned 4 yr/52 mil. Offer Weathers 2yr/5mil. He'll sign. C: Miller, Rivera IF: Prince, Hall, Weeks, Koskie, Cirillo, FA OF: Hart, DeJesus, Kubel, Gwynn, Clark SP: Sheets, Cappy, Schmidt, Bush, Villanueva RP: Coco, Weathers, Meredith, Turnbow, Shouse, Safarte, and Cappellan
  11. Pods? We dont need him.
  12. 5th inning Game 5. Did anybody notice that they played Weezer's "Hash Pipe" when they brought the reliever in for Glavine? Just a little odd.
  13. If Aramis Ramirez elects free agency, he's an idiot. He's due 14 mil (or so) this year. Ramirez + Rich Hill gets it done.
  14. With the salary difference, Davis alone could net Hudson. Davis for Hudson and 7 million? That would make it 24 mil over 3 years for a pitcher that was incredible until last year. Hmm...Jenks makes 7 million. Maybe Davis and Jenks would get it done.
  15. I'd be for a Dunn trade, if we don't have to give up 2 young pitchers. How about DD and TGJ for Dunn and Majewski?
  16. NO way the Twins do that. That is exactly the opposite of their philosophy. They trade for young players. When is the last time they traded for a big time veteran? Rick Aguilera? Seriously, if we want Kubel, we'd have to make it a prospect for prospect deal. Hardy for Kubel would be a possibility.
  17. Seems we have alot of Major League players and a number of AAA players ready for the Majors. Here are some ideas for big trades: 1)Hardy, Eveland, and Davis to Yankees for ARod or Matsui- I like this because Jeter will have to vacate short soon and the yanks are in dyer need of starting pitching. The Brewers could easily accomodate either in the field. 2)Weeks, ZJ, and Gwynn for Jason Bay and Torres- Losing Rickie may get us in the end, but having Bay lead us to a division title will make it sting less. 3)Jenks, ZJ, and Turnbow for Josh Bard and Linebrink. We add catching and relief help and really only give up on one prospect. The Padres may be after Jenks and Hoffman may be able to teach Turnbow how to pitch. I tried to be realistic. Anybody else have ideas?
  18. Personally, I think Arod moves to a smaller market. It drives me crazy to see him get all the blame for a team that had no offense the last three games of this series. As we all know, there's no I in team. Giambi criticizing him kills me when he stuck a needle in his rear when the pressure got to him. My opinion is that the Brewers could give up Davis, Gwynn, and Eveland or ZJ and get Arod. I also think that Hall could net him, straight up, if we take the rest of his salary.
  19. Not that I feel sorry for AROD, but he is good. The Yankee fans hate him, and it bothers me. They have no patience and no appreciation for talent. They love the needle boy (Giambi), and he hasn't brought them a Series. There is no way that guy is clean. They love Jeter. I get that. A career Yankee that has produced. But has he had a better career than A-rod? No way. The fact is that Rodriguez is still the best SS on that team. The only reason Jeter got a Gold Glove is that he dove head first into the stands to get a foul ball. They must've shown that 1000 times. If the Yankees have to win, which I hope they don't, I hope A-rod wins it for them and tells them off and demands a trade.
  20. God, I forgot about him. Well, do we need a FA pitcher then?
  21. Garcia was the Sox best pitcher down the stretch. They are looking to move salary. How about this? Garcia and Cotts for Jenks and Davis We trade Garcia for Davis and Jenks for the lefty reliever we need. The salaries just about match. Sheets FA Cappy Garcia Villanueva Where do I sign up?
  22. I think a package of Eveland and Gwynn may get it done. Dana could start for them, and Gwynn would be a cheap replacement for Crawford.
  23. My question is, if the guy can't get the first two pitches over, why would you hit and run on the third? Seems elementary to me. Frustrating, frustrating loss.
