This offense is sooo much more interesting/fun to watch than last year!

220 million or so isn't a mega contract in baseball anymore. I do think you are probably in the ballpark of what BW would get. Not saying it would be a great idea but I would take that contract over what Burnes or Willy is going to get. Other than Peralta, we don't have any dominant starters in the pipeline.

    Great throw by Contreras
  4. wallus
Point in the direction where I said he wouldn't get paid til he was 39/40.
  5. wallus
He and his buddies are doing a stadium tour

Good play to knock it down, great play to get the out.

Trade Burnes and Willy and hopefully get a good arm or two and the show goes on. Other than Yelich, we don't have a lot of money tied up in the future. Maybe we can sign another Suppan or Garza in free agency!

He's older so he probably won't get a mega contract. We could also extend him now and make sure he gets paid more in 2024 that he would be by going through Arbys. Turang is the logical replacement for Willy but we do not have a great replacement for BW. Burnes is going to be way out of our range and there is obviously bad blood there.

With Woody's changeup, maybe we should be looking at extending him? I am guessing we can "afford" to extend one Big Woo or Willy if they are willing. (Thanks Yelich)

Isn't that a banned word on this website?

When is the last time (if ever) that we've had the top prospect in baseball?
  12. wallus
Seeing the Cardinals lineup and batting averages (yes I know there's more to it than that), it's hard to believe STL is 2-4
  13. wallus
Something like Painter and Bohm from the Phillies fits the bill value wise (according the website) but I probably wouldn't do that. I would trade Burnes for Painter in the offseason however.

I could have swore I was told (not by you) that the defense was average at best after I said it was the best in baseball. The good news is that the guys on the IL are quality defenders as well. Young, fast guys with strong arms matter again.

I think it would take a can't miss stud 3rd baseman and a stud starting pitcher. Both of the players would have to have at least 4 years of control left as well.
  16. wallus
We are playing our young guys and they are performing which has us way too excited. 😅
  17. wallus
The way things are setting up is really looking like Yelich will be the DH next season.
  18. wallus
Until he is being used in high leverage situations, you have to assume he is on the B squad.
  19. wallus
Wilson and Guerra are in the "B" group so hopefully we only see them in games that are pretty much decided. Replace them with Houser and Uribe and the pen looks better.
  20. wallus
Loretta is a poor comparison as he had very limited range and could play every infield position. He was also slow and Turang is fast.
  21. wallus
I have no problem with anyone questioning a manager. My issue is calling him a loser (or any player/poster/person) which is not something this place would have ever put up with when it got started.
  22. wallus
Second time that take has been posted so far this season too.
  23. wallus
CC said Ashby having shoulder surgery and will be out most of if not the entire season. That is a bummer.
  24. wallus
Don't look now but Mitchell has been showing that in game power for a not so small sample size.
  25. wallus
I would have done Mitchell over Winker but it's not a big deal to give a couple of kids the day off.
