  1. His contract is guaranteed so DFA'ing him won't save any money, unless he is claimed. Now I could see them attempting to trade him but they aren't going to light 2 million dollars on fire before the season starts.
  2. No way the team is going to DFA Hiura before Opening Day, not sure why that keeps getting tossed around.
  3. Came across this, just thought I would share it: https://www.baseballrumors.me/2023/03/mlb-rumors-padres-have-3-brewers.html?fbclid=IwAR3HIkzcZq3y7-8kU21W0vcoBPv_Pl3PBL9lsEGjg2rIOOP4RZt3ee7e7u8
  4. Has Mitchell's swing changed at all? If he is going to show this kind of in game power, he is the CF of the future no doubt.
  5. Trade Rodgers and sign Lamar Jackson.
  6. No way they let a player have that much power by threatening to retire. This isn't going to happen anways.
  7. I have to imagine the league would step in if something like that happened.
  8. Yes, I am sure I misread the article and it should be 25 and older.
  9. 62% of people 25 and under do not have a college degree. That is shocking to me as I don't know/hang out with anyone around my age that doesn't have one.
  10. Deathly afraid of milk? Off my draft board.
  11. Love Willy and he is my favorite player on the team. However, unless he takes a discount (and it doesn't sound like he will), you have to trade him. I would rather throw money at Frelick, Chourio, etc to try and get an extra year or two of free agency years out of them. We can really only throw "big" money at one or two guys and unfortunately Yelich was who they made the decision on for one of them.
  12. Cleveland spends even less than we do so no chance they are interested.
  13. I would have thought that putting the Rob Lowe picture on there would have made it obvious I was just giving you a hard time.
  14. Three favorite teams? How long til you are just a fan of all of the teams.
  15. I would bet money on seeing Winker in the OF and Frelick not making the OD roster. History tells me so.
  16. Adding Haslem hopefully will mean the team will be committed to staying in the tax. I am assuming they are losing money right now.
  17. Dumping those two for scraps to save payroll absolutely would have been major news. There were no reports I saw where it was discussed.
  18. An insider on a different board said the team was exploring ways to justify to the fans for trading Middleton and Lopez this past offseason to lower payroll.
  19. Yes having taxpayers contribute to things like this is not ideal and needs to change. The smallest market in baseball with an owner that has no original Wisconsin ties is highly unlikely to be the place that starts it.
  20. Yeah but the amount of action is the same. You are just cutting out guys standing around which I have no desire to see.
  21. Rumor has it the Bucks were seriously considering dumping key guys for lower payroll in this past offseason. If Haslem can stay out of it and just pay up while we are still in a championship window, that is the best we can hope for. I don't have my hopes too high for that to be the case.
  22. Like I mentioned above, these crazy long contracts are happening to skirt the luxury tax. They will worry about potential payroll issues in the future, kinda like dead cap money in the NFL.
  23. Will get cut or bought out for their entire pay. If they retire, they don't get paid.
  24. I don't think these guys will play out these contracts. It's a way to get around the luxury tax today.
  25. Miami sucks and we would likely sweep them in the playoffs if we are healthy.
