  1. Thank you for your service DB. No chance we can trade DB instead of cutting him can we?
  2. I would think Bauer is done in MLB but then again D. Watson happened...
  3. I CAN date Kate Upton but I WON'T.
  4. I think Keston can be useful and have a role on the team. He needs to be used in a proper way to succeed however and that was not done in 2022.
  5. Have you paid for a phone plan? Utilities? Credit cards? Those would all be a part of your credit score.
  6. I find it amusing that one poster that was complaining about ticket prices and the other one that won't pay to watch them are the two people telling the owners to stop being cheap.
  7. All of these contracts getting signed are going to raise the cost of what it will take to keep the players we want.
  8. According to the much maligned trade value website, Baty would cost a haul. Obviously we would have to trade an outfielder (Mitchell) and another quality prospect (Quero or Brown). Even then, it wouldn't be close to being "equal". Getting a good young 3rd baseman and moving Urias to 2nd would be great. I know we could move Turang in this deal too but he might be good insurance if we can't extend Adames.
  9. I would check CCAP to see if they have any evictions or small claims judgements against them. They probably wouldn't because they have no credit score. If they were young, it would make sense and I would require a co-signer with good credit. If they are older with no credit score I would honestly consider it to be a little bit of a red flag but wouldn't be a deal breaker.
  10. You are 100% correct. I have had 2 sets of credit reports turned in and the highest credit score was 514 which I just can't rent to. Let's just say the credit reports were littered with collections. Someone with 600 or higher and no evictions is likely going to get it.
  11. Brock, your Twins may be back in it!
  12. Credit score shows your history (among other things) of paying debts on time. When you rent out a place to live, you are extending credit. Steady income doesn't mean anything if you have more loans than you can afford.
  13. Look at it another way. Right now you have Turang penciled in as the starter. If he doesn't work out, you have Toro/Hiura/Brosseau as plan B options. If you had signed Turner/Drury, Turang would still get plenty of playing time playing 2nd, SS and probably a little outfield. Turang was moved around quite a bit in the minors so he can be versatile. Turner/Drury could also play some 1st if Rowdy stinks and obviously if Winker isn't good he can DH. So really you aren't saying that Turner/Drury is better than Turang, you are saying Turner/Drury is better than Toro/Hiura/Brosseau which is likely. It's a moot point now that those two have signed but our bench sucks right now and adding a veteran would help. You stated " I would prefer the unknown as that has a higher chance of getting a positive result than the veteran does." Projections disagree with you.
  14. Rogers kinda sucked last season and in 2020. If you believe those were aberrations and 2021 is the "real" Rogers, then you make a deal.
  15. Yes, the Brewers have to rely on the development of younger players. I should have mentioned Contreras being the younger players category. While we are all excited about him, he is still far from proven. While Turang/Mitchell/Frelick are decent prospects, they are not those can't miss Top 10 guys where the hit rate is pretty high. Getting a veteran on a one year deal to help mitigate risk is what smart teams do. If the rookies provide production, you play them. If they fall on their face and need to get sent down, you aren't sunk. I would prefer to not have to watch the Pablo Reyes types if at all possible. Tell me what World Series winner started 3 rookies in the field, much less 2.
  16. Because without that we will likely be playing 3 rookies significant innings on a team that has ambitions to contend. Turang can play all over the infield and even some outfield so he would get a lot of playing time if deserved. Right now you are looking at Turang/Toro/Hiura/Brosseau as your potential 2nd base options.
  17. Bucks beat a good NO team. Marjon does some things very well and looks to have a nice future.
  18. If you think Taylor is a decent stopgap and you believe Chourio might be up this season, this might not be a bad idea. Or you think that Mitchell or Wiemer will get exposed once they hit the big leagues and you want to sell high.
  19. I was hoping he would be one of those late market additions that go for less than what market value is to be believed. If he is off the market, shift focus to Longoria on a one year deal.
  20. Thank you for this. Have never heard of Middendorf and we will need guys like him to contribute.
  21. It seems like players are getting "their number" to sign quicker and not holding out. I wouldn't wait on some of these contracts getting thrown around either.
  22. Yep, zero evidence that Turner doesn't like Milwaukee or wouldn't consider signing here. All speculative with absolutely nothing beyond what amounts to a "gut feeling". Milwaukee in the summer isn't a bad place to be and most players don't live in Wisconsin in the offseason so this does not want to play here stuff is overblown. Spring Training is in Arizona and you are on the road half the time. The amount that you actually live in Milwaukee isn't even that much.
  23. Yes, it was really over the top honestly. You can't fault Turner for staying with the Dodgers when he was a nobody in New York and they took a chance on him. On top of that, they are a desirable market and a great team. With all of that said, saying Turner had a zero percent interest in playing for Milwaukee without any real evidence is a dumb thing to say.
  24. You needed the clarification because you mentioned that Turner made no sense because of Urias. Wong was traded to get our starting DH so it's not like he was given away for nothing. The Brewers were reportedly interested in Turner so that makes it much less than pretty obvious. In fact, it makes it obvious they are looking to upgrade at 3rd.
