  1. We have no money to spend... I will withhold from tagging the posts that said we couldn't afford anything near what was offered.
  2. Disappointed we didn't sign the player but okay with not giving out that contract.
  3. Gotta have some decent incentives I imagine.
  4. I think it depends on where you live. There are many businesses that are desperate for workers here. (manufacturing) My business is trying to hire and only getting poor applicants as well.
  5. The 2 obvious teams are Pittsburgh and us. Pittsburgh is in salary cap hell and I think we are much more of a contender than they are. It all comes down to JJ wanting to be here and taking less money to do so.
  6. Moose was a top level guy, hit dingerz, and was willing to play 2nd base. Not a real surprise why he was liked by everyone.
  7. Used pricing has gotten way out of whack. I have bought new recently because I can usually buy for the same price as late model used if I shop around and qualify for discounts.
  8. We have a lot of guys that had unexpectedly poor years and most of these projections are accounting for that. If we can get a good 3B and at least one more starter, we should win the division.
  9. I would definitely do that deal if you feel like Rios can stay at 3rd. I can't see the current Dodgers front office doing something like that however. It almost makes you wonder why the Dodgers would have any interest in bringing back Turner at all.
  10. I look at Turner as a way for us to be the clear favorites to win the division this year and possibly next. We have nobody really knocking on the door that would challenge him in the next 2 seasons. My only concern is signing a player that might not want to be here. (If reports are correct that he wants to stay in LA)
  11. 3/4 plan to wear masks after this is over? They aren't doing that now, at least where I live.
  12. There are LOTS of things MLB could do to make the game more interesting but there are too many "purists" that aren't open to such ideas.
  13. I'm oddly excited about this signing. I don't see a lot of downside here.
  14. Asian players are the new market inefficiency!
  15. Possibly a fallback option should we not get Turner or Ramirez.
  16. 1. Garrett Mitchell (OF) 2. Antoine Kelly (P) 3. Ethan Small (P) 4. Mario Feliciano © 5. Hedbert Perez (OF) 6. Aaron Ashby (P) 7. Brice Turang (SS) 8. Tristan Lutz (OF) 9. Payton Henry © 10. Freddy Zamora (SS) 11. Hayden Cantrelle (SS) 12. Carlos Rodriguez (OF) 13. Dylan File (P) 14. Joe Gray Jr. (OF) 15. Luis Medina (OF) 16. Eduardo Garcia (SS) 17. Zavier Warren © 18. Phil Bickford (P) 19. Nick Bennett (P) 20. Alec Bettinger (P) 21. Micah Bello (OF) 22. Max Lazar (P) 23. Nick Kahle © 24. Joey Wiemer (OF) 25. Lun Zhao (P) Honestly, we have so many international guys that I have no clue on that this could have been a top 15 list.
  17. I think it is pretty likely that Turner is the free agent that Mark A. is talking to as well.
  18. I'm assuming the Brewers and the Dodgers both have 2 year deals out there for him and he is waiting for that 3rd year before signing. I would do 3 years, 39 million with a 5 million buyout on year 3. MLB Trade rumors predicted 2 years, 24 million fwiw.
  19. True but that would leave Robertson as the backup shortstop which is less than ideal.
  20. Assuming that the rest of the division does not make any big moves, signing Turner would have to make us the clear favorite to win the central.
  21. I can't see Arcia having much to any trade value and we would be selling extremely low on Urias.
  22. Really goes against the we don't have any money crowd....
  23. In my view the rationale to go the streaming route is to build a bigger and younger audience which will lead to more revenue in the long run. I've learned from many years of experience in business that chasing the "cheap" customers is almost always a failing proposition. I agree that getting access to people that stream is important but doing so at a discount is foolish.
  24. We are short on SP depth outside of the 5 obvious candidates. I think we need at least 2 more decent starters to make it through a season.
  25. Taking anything less than top dollar (or close) could be devastating to a small market team. They need the revenue so go where the money is.
