  1. You want to headline a deal with a 22 year old first baseman that hit no home runs in 51 A ball games? I would hope we aren't basing any decisions about anything off of 51 A ball games. If he wasn't a first round draft pick, you wouldn't be wanting him as a headliner. I'm not saying they shouldn't trade for him if they like him but talk about an underwhelming headliner for a premium offensive position.

  3. Why would Cleveland do that? Knebel isn't that proven of a reliever and he is about to get more expensive.
  4. I think Mejia is overrated to be honest. Cleveland traded him once and there have been questions about his defense. With that said, I would do Santana and maybe a minor piece for him. I am not sold on Nottingham and would rather have two shots at it like when we had Lucroy and Salome.
  5. Is it weird that I clearly see the value Santana brings but am also quite confident that the outfield can make up for his production based on the additions and potential replacements? You can make up for some lost offense if you have a better defender in right.
  6. Trade Domingo for Mejia (Arby eligible, save some payroll) Sign Cobb and Arrieta (no more than 4 year deals) Trade Thames for prospect(s), start Braun at 1st Release Gallardo and go young at his spot in the pen (I'm a big T. Williams fan) Villar Yelich Braun Shaw Cain Pina/Vogt (Mejia later if he is ready and/or if either of these guys struggle) Phillips/Broxton Arcia Pitcher Arrieta Cobb Anderson Davies Chacin Payroll would likely be in the 125-130 million range and switching out Thames and Santana should save some money next year. This is a risky plan but that team very likely makes the playoffs for a while . It is almost always cheaper to pick up offense during the season versus pitching.
  7. He isn't their best player, not sure what you are talking about.
  8. Why would you want worse hitters getting more at bats?
  9. Would you publicly slurp up someone you are competing with for a job? he’s isn’t competing with those two by any means. He may think he is but those two are penciled in as 2/3rd’s of the OF. Calling them solid isn't a slight by any means, you are making something out of nothing.

  11. Agent information is from the player pages on Baseball Reference. I apologize for any errors, I just went with what they have as I don't have the time to verify that their information is 100% correct. Just did a five minute search on who Cain's current representation is and I couldn't find the answer. Found several articles regarding Cain not working with Kusnick anymore. But other sites like Spotrac still lists Kusnick as his agent. Also updated the post changing Cain's representation to "?" Cain's agent is Damon Lapa per jsonline.
  12. They would probably set a record for most strikeouts in a season combined. They would also likely provide good production at a cheap price. The lineup needs as many lefties in it as possible when playing at Miller Park.
  13. I've been advocating for a Phillips/Broxton platoon in RF with trading Santana for pitching/prospects. The defensive improvement would be huge.
  14. Just a reminder he was only 20 last season. To me he is Michael Brantley 2.0
  15. I think these are a little optimistic for us but there are enough that are pessimistic. I would think Cobb would add a win or two more. Upgrade 2B and it could make things interesting.
  16. Fixed.
  17. I wonder how much they are asking Vogt about him since he caught him in Oakland.
  18. That is an easy yes if it is a 1 for 1 deal.
  19. Who else is really looking to add a high priced starter at this point? I might prefer to wait and grab the last guy standing for the lowest contract at this point.
  20. I would love to hear the justification on this one....
  21. It sounds like many Indian fans would like to sell high on Mejia if you read their board. Can you provide a link? Must be defense/power concerns. I can't seem to track it down right now but I know our resident Cleveland fan posts there so maybe he can help.
  22. Why would they be okay with trading Salazar but not Clevlinger? Money, player control, injuries are all major factors that are better for Clevinger.
  23. I think he would be a great 8th inning guy and he would have a couple more years of control. I would definitely want to add him.
  24. It depends on what kind of contract Garcia is looking for as he made 12 million last year. I have no problem with him on a 2-3 year deal. I would trade Broxton + for Corbin but that's about it.
