I'm not a smoker whatsoever and don't hang out with people that smoke so maybe I am more sensitive. Just have a little self awareness is all I am asking.
Henderson, maybe Smith. Other than that, I don't see them protecting anyone else.
If they were higher on Patrick, he would have gotten a shot this year with all of the injuries.
Pretty much the entire team is set (baring trades) except for 3rd/SS.
The most obvious move is trading Devin to fill that hole and get some payroll flexibility.
I'm not writing him off by any means. For a bat first guy, he has been showing a lot of weak contact. Hopefully we clinch a playoff spot early and can give him plenty of at bats.
I advocated for the Brewers to trade a little bullpen depth at the deadline. They decided to keep everyone and are having roster issues even without considering these two. I would say 2025 is when we will see them both in the majors.
Had Smith on my radar but he has been not playing as well as he did to start the season offensively. I would want to make sure his first half wasn't a fluke before making a move. The move might involve Devin for Smith which would help both teams.
I hope Willy has a great year, we win the World Series, put the QO on him and get a pick. I would be very worried about his defense falling in a long term contract if it is already.
