  1. Ron Rivera to Washington, on an otherwise fairly quiet black Monday....
  2. With Shurmur out in NY, I wonder how attractive that job is. A bit of a disaster as an organization the past few years, but if you believe in David Jones and with Barkley in the fold, it’s an interesting job, IMO.
  3. I always thought Kitchens was a bit of an odd hire last year, but giving him one year seems completely unfair. It should be an interesting and busy Black Monday around the league.
  4. I know you're talking about today's game specifically, but man, how bad a week has it been for them? They were gifted three Packer turnovers in the 1st half Monday, did nothing with them, and lost by two scores, moving them from a guaranteed home game to having their playoff route go at New Orleans, probably at San Francisco, then at GB or Seattle if they manage to win those two. Brutal.
  5. Only if you ignore the fact that the four seed has actually won twice in the last five years.
  6. Astoundingly incorrect, IMO of course. I guess it's a good idea if you enjoy watching blowouts before the championship game. I guess I and 99% of the rest of the world want a system where more than the same 6 teams actually have a chance to make it.
  7. Astoundingly incorrect, IMO of course.
  8. The best tweet I’ve seen today is that the Bengals have already announced Joe Burrow as their week 1 starter.....
  9. Worth noting that Rodgers quietly restructured his contract this week, freeing up $11.4 million in cap room for 2020.
  10. I think the opposite is true, personally. I think Craig is riding Stearns and the organizational philosophy’s coattails, but that’s just IMO.
  11. Never expected to stop in on the night of Christmas day to find people arguing condescendingly about how to use Twitter. If you haven't gotten the point over the past week or two, we're done with this stuff around here, guys. We received two complaints from two different uninvolved posters just today. Adjust your posting style, or you'll continue to see us handing out week-long suspensions.
  12. Why are we setting on anything? And why are the Brewers the ones hoping the other side doesn’t hang up?
  13. Yeah, I wonder what the story is there.....
  14. I think this is very accurate... this team may not be able to beat the Saints or 49ers in the playoffs, but getting those games at home adds at least a variable that can work in the Packers favor. Goal 1, win the division and get a home game, goal 2 bye, goal 3 as many games at home as possible.
  15. The Seahawks got beaten soundly by a bad Cardinals team at home. Another nice reminder that no team in the NFC is unbeatable this year, and that inexplicable bad losses to inferior teams don't happen only to the Packers. Everyone (including myself) thinks tonight is a tough one, but if they win, the Packers are in outstanding shape.
  16. Yeah, that was insult to injury.

  18. I think the article highlights well what Stearns said to McCalvey yesterday- that they've taken the WAR that was assigned to two players, basically, and they feel like they've improved the expected WAR of multiple different roster spots to basically have them slightly better in the rotation and worse overall because of the loss of Grandall, but one or two additional acquisitions could have them net even or slightly better. I do, though, take a bit of issue with the projections for Garcia and Narvaez, which seem very low. Have the Steamer projections been altered at all to factor in the adjustment both will have going to a more hitter-friendly park?

  20. After that long-winded rant I just skimmed, I’m good. But you’re asking posters to stop discussing/responding to a poster about the actual person this thread is intended for? Nothing I just said crosses any line around here. These threats are not really needed when it was basically one poster, that you already took care of, that was causing a ruckus in every thread. I must have missed the Alex Cobb part of the Sogard signing. We'll see you after the holiday.

  22. You guys were told to stop. Any more and we’ll add you to the week off group.

  24. I've strangely had that feeling the last day or so as well.... it's as if they wanted to get their basic pieces on the roster filled while the top-end guys got their crazy deals, and now I wonder if the Brewers will swoop in and nab somebody.
