  1. Sounds like a 4-game suspension is coming for Young.... not sure if that will be Maryland + 3, or 4 after levied next week. The latter would obviously include the Big Ten Championship....
  2. Well, that’s an interesting development....
  3. 4.1 WAR last year, which is fantastic. His number suggest he's been both hurt by park effect and the defense behind him. I'm seriously confused by the question.
  4. Up it to 5/$90M, and you might pull it off - albeit if you can get Grandal to defer the payments. $10 million bonus $16 million/year for 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024. Are we bidding against ouselves here?
  5. I think this is very fair. The Brewers have limited financial resources, and after today, have holes to fill at C, 3B, SS, 1B, and need about 3 arms between the bullpen and rotation. They have internal candidates that COULD fill 3B and SS, if you bank on Shaw and Arcia. Of the two, Arcia is the smarter choice as he's cheaper and still has age-based potential to figure it out. If you're going to need to use resources elsewhere, as they likely will need to, hoping for one more year with Arcia is probably the smartest financial play.
  6. Why? So two years into that mega deal we are wishing we didn't have it just like Braun's contract? Couldn't agree more.
  7. I know Daniels didn't grade out well, but I do think he helped with Clark's productivity overall. Obviously, getting rid of Daniels has proven to be fine at this point based on his terrible year in Detroit, but I can't help but think that this defense would be better (and Clark's performance) with someone better than Tyler Lancaster starting at DE.
  8. But... Gary IS an Edge rusher. Your post suggests that you think he's an interior DL, but he's not, so I'm confused.
  9. Oh, you're allowed to post just fine. Doesn't mean I can't personally lament or disagree with what's being posted. Yes, you do. But is it the best choice? Especially as a mod. Just never goes anywhere. Ever. But, yes, do you. You like to post stuff like this, I think as a jab. I’d argue you’d be better off not trying to police the board yourself, but that’s just a friendly suggestion.
  10. And you struggle with letting people post in an IGT. Oh, you're allowed to post just fine. Doesn't mean I can't personally lament or disagree with what's being posted.
  11. The hot takes are strong again today, I see. Man, we really struggle to deal with losses around here.
  12. I’m sure you watched most of their games to know how they compare? I guess the good news is we’ll at least have a head to head vs. San Francisco to find out for sure....
  13. Pretty hard to know when the team has given them 0 things to cheer about. Crickets on that 3rd down stop.....
  14. The “70-80% Packer fans” nonsense I heard from sports writers/ sports talk all week seems to be completely crap....
  15. Based on a quick review of his posting history, I'm betting he's referring to Biogenesis.
  16. This is exactly right. You have zero draft capital to try and get a better option, and the Mack contract left them with one of the lowest (28th in the league) in cap space for 2020. That's barely enough to cover what's left of your draft class, let alone signing a marquee QB as a viable starting option.
  17. I'm struggling to understand the people saying "Wisconsin should never lose a game like that" while also saying "Ohio State has been beated by Purdue three times recently." Seriously, it happens a lot to a lot of teams. Wisconsin hasn't had more than their fair share of clunkers, IMO.
  18. It seems that this is repeating the same point over and over and citing a list of current NFL players, when I'm not even sure said list actually makes your point. How about addressing some of the other, valid counter-points that people are bringing up instead of passing them over? Also, how many of Wisconsin's 27 NFL players are from 9-10 program years ago? How long can you point to guys like Wilson and JJ Watt as indicative of the current levels of talent in the program? How many of those 26 Clemson players are from the last 5 years relative to Wisconsin's? There's more to the story than a chart that DOES show that OSU has nearly twice as many NFL players as Wisconsin....
  19. The dude has one hand.... Yeah, not real possible for him to catch that unless he makes a crazy one- handed palm grab.
  20. I honestly can’t tell if this is serious or not....
  21. See, now you're doing the same thing in the opposite direction. No one ever said the talent was equal. The gap isn't as big as it's made out to be and certainly the results shouldn't be this lopsided. OSU is not producing talented QBs but their QBs are putting up video game numbers. That's scheme and it's not something Wisconsin has in it's arsenal. Other far less talented teams than Wisconsin have been able to beat Ohio State and they didn't do it with tons of 5 star recruits or future NFLers. Wisconsin needs to innovate to beat Ohio State and now even former players are saying it. How many of those teams have beaten this 2019, super loaded, super talented OSU team? How many have even given them a game?
  22. I think they win this challenge....
  23. I'm thinking Music City vs Auburn. I think a 10-3 record and a Cotton Bowl birth is the ceiling. Obviously, a win vs. Iowa is necessary to keep things from snow-balling.
  24. Posted on a different Badgers/recruiting board, and I find it relevant and accurate: Before we get into anything else, let's understand the cold realities. On average, Ohio produces 150 D1 recruits per year and about 16-17 4/5 star players. On average, Wisconsin produces 10 D1 recruits per year and one 4/5 star player. This is never, ever going to change. You need to accept the reality that OSU had better talent on the day you were born and is going to have better talent on the day you die. That's without even factoring in that they have zero academic standards. So if you want to be "recruit better players guy", you're honestly better off just moving to Columbus. You'll be happier. There's OSU and there's everyone else. Your program is not "mediocre" or "underachieving" because you can't beat Ohio State. This is a good Wisconsin team, just not near as good as OSU. The fact that this seems to be a revelation to some people and they're flying off the handle after this game sorta boggles mind. To beat OSU, you need to play perfect, get some breaks and have the Buckeye's be flat. If both sides play average, UW is going to lose EVERY TIME. Today OSU played their best game of the year (adjusting for competition) and we were ho-hum... thus 38-7.
