  1. Honestly, that probably gets to the most just/accurate outcome. Having two guys making the decision, one who's crew likely blew it in the first place, and Al Riveron who will never admit that his guys can be wrong sometimes, is just stupid. Or at least the results have indicated that it's stupid.
  2. Arcia's salary:$565,700 Hosmer's salary: $21,000,000 (under contract for SIX MORE SEASONS!!!) Davis's salary: $16,500,000
  3. Brief observations from this yesterday: 1)Obviously, a win is a win. But man, that was about as ugly a win as I hope we have this year. 2)This defense is back to the quality of defense of 2-3-4 years ago that was just amazing. If the offense looks more like it did the first three weeks rather than yesterday, this team will win more games than those teams did. 3)QB needs to play better, o-line needs to play better, coaching needs to be more creative. On the last point, this felt like a hangover of sorts from a big win. Felt like we thought we could put them to sleep and win without much substance to the game plan. Truth be told, it basically worked anyway. If not for the really, really unfortunate (but legit) penalty on Wildgoose during the early NW punt, that's probably a 10-0 or 14-0 game early, and maybe out of hand from there. 4)Kudos to NW for hanging with Wisconsin regardless. That game looked over at 24-3, and Wisconsin's special teams did everything they could to keep NW with hope, and they capitalized. 5)One final time for emphasis, Dunn is bad at returning punts. Put one of the other athletes back there like Shaw or AJ Taylor or anyone else, please. 6)Kent State comes at a good time to get a little healthier before a big one vs. MSU then a road game vs. Illinois. Win those three, and it sets up a monster game in Columbus. Can't wait to see what the next few weeks bring to this team.
  4. One more time for emphasis.
  5. And there you go.
  6. Feels like this game is going to be decided on whichever defense forces a devastating turnover.
  7. Coan is playing the opposite of his first three weeks at this point... poor decision making, inaccurate throws, not doing anything with his legs. He's basically Hornibrook 2.0 out there today.
  8. I understand playing field position when your defense is playing this well, but what are the odds that that punt is actually going to get downed inside the 20? Silly decision, especially out of a coach that went for it on 4th inside his own territory last week. Also, Jack Dunn is really, really bad at returning punts. Seems like he makes the wrong choice on catch/let it bounce every other time he's back there.
  9. Coan certainly looks mediocre today thus far. Hoping for some adjustments at the half.
  10. If only there was a huge disparity in resources to explain why a string of playoff berths is such a huge accomplishment for one and ho hum for another. Correct answer.
  11. Man, that penalty was gigantic. That’s potentially a 14-point swing.
  12. You disappear for all of their 18 of 20 stretch and return to post stuff like this? Yikes.
  13. It’s just such a huge swing. It’s unreal that stuff like that can happen in today’s world of technology.
  14. That's not saying much. When he is actually on the field he's been pretty average for most of his career. No. Correct answer.
  15. Lewis had like 3 chances to put contact on him there, and managed not to.
  16. That’s all fair, but the point that if the shoe was on the other foot, Maddon would be torching the Brewers is likely accurate.
  17. Special teams matter. You can’t piss away field position right after scores and break your own momentum.
  18. I actually think this ref crew is doing well. I don’t agree with the rules, but everything has been resolved correctly, IMO.
  19. Ficken? No. Correct answer.
  20. Two plays where the Packers have the ball, and two hits by Philly that the NFL is trying to eliminate from the game.
  21. ....That the date of the post you're quoting is from October 2, 2018.
  22. That's nuts.
  23. I have no doubt that whatever choice they make with Arcia will be the wrong one, just because it seems that much of a toss-up to me. Keep him in the job, and he'll stay below replacement level. Let him go, and I have little doubt that he'll flourish and they gave up on him too early, just like Segura.
