  1. Does the crowd noise REALLY need to be this high? I mean, one game vs Boston was bad enough, but not being able to hear the announcers for two games in a row (and in different cities no less) is just absurd.
  2. Ok bklyn, we've got it- Melvin needs to fire Yost or you think he should be fired as well. No need to hammer the point into the ground.
  3. I've only had one freeze on PS3, FWIW.
  4. I believe Jack Z was here before Melvin, and Melvin kept him on.. I could be wrong on that, though. That is correct. But I think Jack Z is so highly thought of in baseball at this point that if we hire a new GM that isn't Jack himself, I think it's very unlikely he stays on board.
  5. If FSN can't get these simple things that struggle with in the broadcasts straightened out, it's going to be a happy day for fans when the Brewers can negotiate a new TV deal.
  6. does that suggest they are making a lot of great decisions either? It suggests that their opinion of Crabbe is that he's not even worth a bench spot on a team that has plenty of opportunity to stash a guy to keep him in their organization, and instead preferred to give him back to the Brewers, a team that also didn't feel Crabbe was good enough to protect in the Rule V a few months ago in the first place. I'd say that's a pretty reasonable commentary as to where they feel Crabbe is in his development and usefulness.
  7. Sweet jeebus- do they employ a sound guy? And today, the crowd noise is so loud, it's drowning out Bill and Brian.
  8. it's my opinion that a bad GM can set a franchise back for years. I agree completely- it's taken the Brewers 15 years to get back to winning baseball, and nearly 10 years to recover from the disaster that Bando made this franchise. Melvin probably has a get-out-of-blame free card due to Yost- he can fire Yost and have him take much of the blame for this year if they continue to struggle, which would probably buy Melvin another year.
  9. Callix Crabbe would be an upgrade over Weeks in just about every department with the exception of power and a few stolen bases. San Diego returned Crabbe to the Brewers rather than keeping him on the bench for the rest of the year because they didn't feel he was ready to play in the majors at this point. I don't see how that has changed a few days later to suggest that he should now be starting in the majors.
  10. Finally picked it up myself on Friday- graphics are very impressive, but the storyline is kind of a pain early on. As logan said, it seems like people are calling you constantly for the first 10% of the game. Plus, the first 5-10% of missions seem to be almost tutorial-esque, with tips constantly coming up about how to drive, shoot, run, walk, talk, eat, etc. But, I'm sure once things get going, it's going to be ultra-cool.
  11. Thanks for the kind words, Mike. We certainly wish Dana the best in his future.
  12. Well it's a little over 7 years old, not 10 Hence why I said "nearly 10 seasons old". http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif No offense Peavey, because you are far from the first person to use the old, "who do you have in mind" line...BUT the fans sure as heck don't have the inside sources of the game that MLB executives I wasn't necessarily saying there's no one out there that would be better, but I was asking FTJ if he had someone in mind, since it kind of seemed like he had some ideas.
  13. I think the new ballpark has a lot to do with the capacity crowds The stadium is nearly 10 season old already FTJ (which is hard to believe). I don't think there's a lot of people coming to the Park at this point because they haven't been there yet. I don't think Melvin has been "bad", only that there may be better options. And who are you suggesting? Do you have some names in mind?
  14. The assumption is could. The Brewers have managed to get either their 1st or 2nd round pick to contribute in the majors every year since 2001. I don't think it's all that out there to think that with a sandwich pick and a 2nd for Linebrink, that one of them will be at least as good a prospect as Inman, and again, it's actually quite likely.
  15. Who knows about draft picks...We could have anything... With Jack Z drafting, I think the odds are quite good that one of the two players picked with the comp picks will be at least as good a prospect as Inman was.
  16. Nice to have him back in the fold. He's clearly not ready, but who knows what we might have in another year or so.
  17. This might be meant as Jackson's make it or break it call up- see if he can figure things out, or cut our losses.
  18. I really hope it's Branyan- thoughts of Gwynn DH'ing are not good ones.
  19. I agree- not a heck of a lot of enjoyment this year so far, despite .500 ball.
  20. What the heck Peavy? My bad, you didn't screw up. Sorry about that.
  21. To quote Lou Brown "I think you can go and get him now".
