  1. I think the team losing a Type A free agent just gets two sandwich picks. Actually, I believe the Type A compensation stayed the same, but type B changed.
  2. With the typical injuries and such, I think three is actually quite likely. I wouldn't be surprised if initially we have two get in, and then a third in the 'final vote'.
  3. Wow. EDIT: sportsillustrated.cnn.com...ml?cnn=yes
  4. WWE.com is reporting it as a double murder suicide. I don't think it's clear as of yet that Benoit was the one who committed suicide...
  5. Estrada couldn't/didn't see the ball, and didn't head for third until it landed.
  6. And people think Ned leaves his pitchers in too long? Is Garner asleep? My sincerest apologies to Phil. With this bullpen, I'm surprised he didn't let Jennings throw 140.
  7. Just for the record.....we aren't talking about a certain something going on a certain somewhere......right? It's perfectly acceptable to talk about John Thomson's no hitter for the Royals in the 2nd inning in Anaheim. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  8. I couldn't tell you the last time we've had a batter reach on a dropped third strike against us prior to this week. Just like catcher's interference, when there's one rarity, another is sure to follow.
  9. It's very possible for a gas leak to have started over night while everyone in the house was sleeping. That would seem like an awful big coincidence to happen the same night Benoit misses the pay per view for "personal reasons."
  10. And then walking Hardy to get to Braun? Has Garner been asleep for Braun's first month in the majors?
  11. And people think Ned leaves his pitchers in too long? Is Garner asleep?
  12. Mark A actually looked fairly annoyed about Craig's interviewing LaPorta right in front of him there....
  13. Turnbow has only been bailed out once by Cordero(June 5 vs. Cubs). Thanks for looking that up, chowyo.
  14. Maybe that's a reason I stopped watching back then, way too ridiculous. Well, if this is true (as it appears to be), I'm not sure how it puts the WWE in a worse light. Didn't Benoit's wife have some issues in the past with previous husbands and such? I just remember some odd stuff, but how much of that was real vs storyline from 15 years ago. From what is being reported, I'm afraid this is going to end up very Phil Hartman-ish in the details.
  15. Along with his entire family? Boy, the details of this one could be disturbing unless it's carbon monoxide or something like that. I haven't followed wrestling closely for years, but Benoit always seemed like a good guy. Hopefully this is some sort of very strange storyline.
  16. I had no issues with either of my Hall or Fielder bats other than the glue not holding the nut tight for Fielder, but otherwise my bobbles and doubles are in good shape.
  17. Fox Sports suggests that the White Sox would accept either Ryan Braun or Yovanni Gallardo as compenstaion for Buerhle. In other news, I'd take Jennifer Love Hewitt's hand in marriage if offered.
  18. Like I said, thats only because Cordero bailed him out of jams numerous times. I'd like to know just exactly how many times 'numerous' actually is. I definitely remember Cordero coming in to clean up the 8th a couple of times, but I'd be very interested in seeing just how many that actually was and how much ERA that would have added.
  19. Ray King would be a fantastic addition as the loogy we need. His overall numbers are very poor, which might help us buy very low, and Washington is surely in a selling mode. For the record, his overall numbers are very poor because Washington is horribly mis-using him. He actually has more AB's against him by RHB than LHB, which is just a testament to the cluelessness of the Nats staff. Vs LHB: .188/.316/.375/.691; vs RHB: .385/.419/.795/1.213.
  20. 2. Wise in the 9th was unacceptable. Capellan and Spurling need to work once in a while, and blowouts seem like the best time. I think it's becoming fairly clear that Wise is in the doghouse for something. He's pitching once a week and in unusual situations. As I said in the chat last night, I think maybe the team has gotten sick of his absurd usage limitations at this point.
  21. Where is the picture of #83? I was looking forward to it. Brian hasn't been around this evening. I'm sure it'll be up later. But yeah, take that #84!
