  1. Of all the damn days for Davis to have his worst outing of the year, he sure picked a bad one. Grrr......... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
  2. Can anyone tell me what happened with Jenkins at bat with the error? I just have Gameday up. Flyball to deep center that was dropped.
  3. Holy crappy pitching, Batman.
  4. Helms sacrificing in Colorado in order to have Bennett bat? Sounds like he almost beat it out for a hit.... Plus it kept Bennett out of a DP and resulted in a run scored.
  5. Podsednik scratched from the lineup.......
  6. Kudos to Mass aka Jim for the mention during the 7th inning tonight.... afterall, it's gotta be pretty cool when an announcer refers to you as his 'buddy' on the air. Great stuff.
  7. Good grief Kat, that thing is terrifying...
  8. I must have missed it... what happened, Peavey? Well, Brian or a mod can delete this if they see fit, but I guess it was just on regional TV.... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif Bill says, something to the effect of "I had a lot of trouble getting a good grip on the teat." to which Daron responds, "Yeah, you had to give it the reach-around." Followed by an awkward silence.
  9. It's clear that Gardenhire has less than zero confidence in Aaron Fultz. If that's the case, why not get somebody else warming up? But the other thing is, if you don't have confidence in Fultz, why not warm up your other lefty instead? I guess he forgot that Romero throws with his left hand too or something. I can understand letting him pitch to Jenks, but after the 4-pitch walk to load the bases, and knowing that there is no way we'll PH for Lyle, it's inexcusable not to bring in the lefty in that situation. Then, to compound the stupidity, he FINALLY brings in the LHP to face two guys that will be PH for with RHB.... which he wasn't prepared to deal with because he didn't have a RHP warming for some inexplicable reason. Bringing in Roa after a hurried warmup, as you said batman, =4 runs for the Brewers.
  10. Isn't this supposed to be a family broadcast? Wow. Yeah, I think they realized what they had done as soon as they said it.... I couldn't believe it myself.
  11. Wow wow wow.... For all the people who bash Yost's in-game managing, the way that Gardenhire managed the 7th is nothing short of idiotic.
  12. A rather inauspicious start for DD Yea of little faith..... K's the side after the 2B.
  13. This Santos guy is good...... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif And Overbay is the MAN.
  14. Could someone else have caught that ball? Maybe. Clark probably could have gloved it five times out of ten, or maybe a bit less. It certainly wasn't a routine play. To describe it as such is disingenous. Just to point out, Uecker himself said that Grieve took a terrible route and probably should have caught it.....
  15. First off, it's pretty sad that a pitcher that hits as crappy as Sheets can't even sacrifice. Beyond that, I don't disagree with the call to bunt there, but having Sheets do it was asking for trouble, especially considering his botched bunt earlier in the game. PRing for Sheets after the fact was definitely the right thing to do, though.
  16. OMG....Ned is KEEPING SHEETS IN!!! What the hell???? 2 on , nobody out.... Fricken unbelievable To sacrifice.... it's not that unbelieveable. I doubt that he'll go another inning. EDIT: And Sheets leaves the game...
  17. However, Ginter has one bad game and rides the pine for three days, and Grieve's defense is perceived to be so bad that he needs to leave the game after the 6th inning each day Change 'one bad game' to 'one bad month', and remove the word 'perceived,' and I completely agree with the above statement http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif For the record, Ginter's OPS in May was .674. His OPS so far in June is a shockingly bad .603. Yipe.
  18. Wow.... this segment with Bob Brenard is so freaken terrible its embarrassing me. Please end this now.... if his father-in-law doesn't maim him first http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. Talk about hanging your starting pitcher out to dry.... is Williams in a coma? He's obviously hurting, and a guy has been ready in the pen for a while... what terrible managing. EDIT: Lol..... endaround and I have an ESP moment...
  20. Oswalt is hurt... lets hope we capitalize before Houston wakes up and realizes it....
  21. brewerinsider.com with the plug on TV.... where's our PR staff to offer Daron and Bill webspace at brewerfan.net? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif And I'd like to point out that Brewerinsider.com still hasn't put a brewerfan.net link up on their site...
  22. Berkman isn't even with the team, he's left because of a death in the family. So no Berkman to PH or play tomorrow, FYI.
  23. Wow... the Astros sure are doing their best to allow us to sweep. Hopefully the loss of half their lineup will counter Oswalt's throwing and we can win this one when it gets to the bullpens....
  24. A few thoughts again tonight: Jenks, Pods, and Spivey all seem to be heating up.... come on guys, go on a tear!! Boy, if the offense is really back, then we could be looking at a VERY successful homestand against some fairly mediocre opposition. But lets take care of business first and take at least 2 of 3 from the 'Stros. Anyone remember about 4 days ago when we were all worried about a gigantic free-fall taking us way under .500?? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  25. This is really a minor quibble, though, and Brooks deserves 90% of the blame. He's been lights out this year, so I really can't fault Ned for throwing him out there for the end part of the angel's order with 1 out in the 7th.... obviously you may be correct in that he might not have been ready to pitch tonight. I didn't mind Bennett over Adams when he was first brought out... obviously hindsight is 20/20, but Bennett has been pitching very well, so it wasn't a problem for me at the time. I don't disagree that Kolb probably should have been used, as even I thought that maybe it'd be a good idea to bring him in after Bennett walked the two guys, but like you said, it wasn't going to happen, so again, I didn't really have a problem with it. The other two things that Ned handled very well was his leash on Oby- it was the right move to send him out for the 7th, but he also got him out of there at the right time as well. Also, bringing in Vizcaino when he did was a very good move, and that one obviously paid off. EDIT: Good night Peavey, BTW. I'll be better in the morning, I promise... crappy day + crappy game = ornery Bill. I hear ya... today was one of my worst days in recent memory, so I'm cranky as well.... adding in a Brewers loss in a game they should have won didn't help anything either.
