  1. I immediately thought that as well.
  2. .....and the clock keeps running....
  3. Inbounding it to Lopez to begin with is an odd choice....
  4. Holy crap, that would be the most Wisconsin way to lose.
  5. Looked like he drove to the basket there without a plan?
  6. Heck of a game, might go to last possession. Jrue monstrous these last few possessions.
  7. You've stated this numerous times, and I'm really not sure I think you're right on this- the two up-the-middle signings this year were Wong, who has worked out exceptionally well thus far both offensively and defensively, and JBJ who flopped. The rest were guys like Vogelbach, Robertson, and Shaw, who aren't athletic up the middle guys in any sense of the word.
  8. Absolutely. But in this context, I assume the poster's point was 'this product has been tough for the fanbase to watch, yet they continue to support them'. If that wasn't the case, I stand corrected.
  9. Considering that even following the current losing streak they’re still six games over .500 and one game out of first, clearly they can. This team will not finish above .500 if the offense doesn't dramatically improve. Well, you weren't here saying that when they won 14 of 16.... just a couple of weeks ago. In fact, I don't recall seeing you here much at all during that time. The sky isn't falling- they're just in a rough patch. Can the offense get better? Yep, absolutely. But stating that they 'can't win' is flat-out wrong.
  10. Considering that even following the current losing streak they’re still six games over .500 and one game out of first, clearly they can.
  11. The winning likely makes that easier, current streak not withstanding.
  12. Just came back from Vegas, I can tell you that Lyft/Uber drivers are waaaaay lacking right now. Long, long waits for every Lyft we took, rush/peak or not.
  13. Ted Thompson wasn't the President of the Franchise, he was the GM. Bob Harlan is Murphy's equivalent, and he often put on the necessary dog-and-pony show in front of the shareholders. I agree with xis- you can take issue with what he said, but not that he's not going about his business quietly. He's the 'ownership' face of the franchise, and routinely HAS to be in front of people and the media. EDIT: Again I'll note though, my firm belief is that he shouldn't have said what he said, but that again if Aaron is upset about it, meh. The twitter-verse trying to spin this as some franchise-level mega slam is absurd.
  14. I mean, it could have meant that he's complicated, which is a fair and accurate statement. But so is difficult..... I took it more to mean that Brett Favre, etc. was a guy whose situation was pretty straightforward, and Aaron isn't that. But yeah, didn't need to say it and shouldn't have.
  15. I'm betting a lot of people said the same thing about Favre, and the Packers were able to replace him. If the Packers are willing to move on from Aaron as it appears they may be, it's because they believe they also have found their guy to replace him in Love. Also, though I fully agree that Murphy doesn't and shouldn't feel the need to say anything on this, and that it's better that he doesn't, but let's not act like what he said was insulting/demeaning/rift-building like some seem to WANT it to be. If Aaron is offended by 'complicated fella', he's even more of a sensitive diva than I already thought he was.
  16. ...... Considering this was written about Elgton Jenkins, perhaps no one's draft evaluation skills as a fan are perfect.
  17. Yes, for trade values, but not for drafted players by draft position. I don’t recall situations where the Packers traded picks and the return was light based on the value charts.
  18. Fielding bible agrees with you http://www.fieldingbible.com/TeamDefensiveRunsSaved Feels like the Reds have made gobs of acquisitions over the past couple of years to not be terribly good at much, and really horrible in some areas.
  19. What?I I'm not trying to say anything like this. That's impossible for us (probably anyone) - so why would I be so stupid as to assume it. Then what is the premise of your last few posts? If it's impossible for us to know what a players' perceived value is both with the Packers and the league, how is it fair to claim that they didn't get good value for the players they took when they took them?
  20. But again, who is determining that value? The Packers felt that those players had value at those slots. It's fans using online mock drafts that feel they didn't.
  21. As you do acknowledge later in your post, this does require the believe that us as fans, know other teams' boards well enough (and by extension, better than the Packers) to know that they would indeed be there in the round you as a fan thought they should go in. That's extraordinarily challenging to accept. Again, you are basically making the argument that no team should trade up for a specific player.
  22. Again I'll ask, as I have yet to receive a response on this- how has their philosophy proven unsuccessful to this point? It seems that the vast majority of complaints are because people personally disagree with the strategy, mainly because they take guys that the fans don't have on their own radars, despite the fact that it has worked thus far. The players they've targeted have become exceptional players. You may call it lack of discipline, I call it proper identification of talented players. After all, if you weren't targeting a specific player, why would anyone trade up in the draft?
  23. I'll say sometimes. But it's also the nature of the NFL that a lot of guys flunk out, so there's that too. I specifically meant the picks that were viewed as 'reaches'- Alexander, Jenkins, Gary, Savage were all there, and now all of them are all-pro caliber.
  24. To be fair, I probably should have set the bar at 20 TDs, so you're probably right on the under. But, what you said above isn't the limit of what you said, and that's where I'm taking issue- you went on to say that he's "continuously taking 5th rounders in the 3rd", which as others pointed out, isn't true. You further said that leads to a lack of talent on the roster, which again, simply isn't true. This roster is completely loaded, and that's completely to the contrary of what the roster looked like when Gute took over. I get not liking a pick or a philosophy, but when they've gone off the path with their selections, they've been right the vast majority of the time. In short, Gute is making a legitimate case that HE IS one of the smartest guys in the room.
  25. Yeah, this comment is a little puzzling. 'Continuously' is a big stretch, and is there anyone that looks at the Packers' roster right now and sees a talent deficit? And I'll agree with all of the comments on mock drafts. Drafts are comically graded too early, and based off projections made by random people who have no clue what teams' draft boards look like. Is Zach Baun a steal in the 3rd because he was projected as a 1st? No, because mock draft-ers didn't have a clue about his character concerns. Similarly, if you pick a guy because you know that another team right behind you also really likes him, is he truly a reach? Finally, when Dillon and Jones combine for 25 rushing TDs and 2000 yards this year, will anyone care whether Dillon was projected to go in the 3rd vs. being taken in the late-2nd?
