    We have an organizational log-jam at short and a hole at third if Gamel can't cut it defensively. If we're talking Reyes or Wright, I'd much rather have Wright. His .389 obp would look nice in our lineup, or any lineup as far as that goes.

    I love Corey, but he's been lost at the plate for the past month with no signs of getting out of it. Brad Nelson may not play the best defense, but I bet he can hit a fastball right down the middle.

    There are just so many people that have had a part in this. I think it would be easier to find a few people that we could have done it without. Julian Tavarez comes to mind. Julian gave up about a run an inning when he was here. Julian, we could have done it without you.

    I'd like it to be: Gallardo Sabathia Bush Gallardo Sabathia But think it will be: Suppan Sabathia Gallardo Bush Sabathia I think Dale is going to put a lot of stock in Suppan's "big game" reputation and start him game one. I think they should try to get the most out of their two best pitchers (Gallardo and Sabathia), but I guess it would make some sense to have Gallardo start in Milwaukee in an attempt to bring him back slowly and limit his at-bats. Also, the Pirates were nice enough not to try it, but I could see the Phillies testing Gallardo's knee with a few bunts.

    I don't recall seeing an option to buy a parking pass when ordering tickets from the ticket raffle. Did anyone else see it? Maybe I just missed it in all my excitement. Hopefully if I get there early enough I can get a spot.

    I feel bad for Ned. Ned gave his heart and soul to this team for the better part of the decade and couldn't be part of it when everything came together. He was fired very unprofessionally and handled the situation with nothing but class. No one knows where this team would be if Ned had kept his job til the end of the season, but if Ned's firing leads to Doug parting ways with the organization, it will be very unfortunate, IMO.

    Growing up without cable, I spent many summer nights listening to Uecker call games for crappy teams. Listening to that call made me tear up like a little girl.
