I'm gonna really miss Uecker's stories when he eventually retires. Vizcaino not knowing Geoff Jenkins' name after 3 seasons, and Vizcaino not knowing where he was staying during spring training.
I'd give Ned a B. Ned's doing pretty well considering Ned's parents didn't send him to school with enough supplies. Someone stole one of his notebooks and his expensive box of crayons is missing a few colors. His dad recently got him a nice 3 subject notebook, but Ned could really use some good pens. Some of his pens tend to explode on him and his good ones will run out of ink by the end of the school year if he uses them too much.
Turnbow and a bag of magic beans? Seriously though, if Harden was available Street probably would be as well, and the Crew can certainly get him if this is the type of deal Beane is looking for.
If Harden misses starts, they'll still have Gaudin who has been more than serviceable filling in as a starter. Plus the Cubs will still have Harden next year.
If Harden makes half his starts the rest of the way, this is a good deal for the Cubs. Unbelievable. Beane must have let an intern makes this deal or has a place in his heart for the Cubs.
If Hall was hitting better I'd slide him over to second and put Dillon in the platoon at third. Unfortunately, Billy is in the same boat as Weeks right now in terms of offensive production, or lack thereof.
Seconded. He was used primarily against lefties in June and still could only manage a .476 ops. He needs at-bats to get out of his funk, but we can't afford to give to them to him in games that matter.
