  1. I understand what you’re saying and to an extent, I can’t even argue with it. It’s awesome what we’ve been able to do against the big name clubs this year. However, the name of our game has always been able to maximize the most out of what we have. We have to, to be successful. If money were no factor, no GM in baseball would take our organizational talent over the Dodgers. Thats no knock against us. It makes our story even better. But we’ll always have to have some luck fo our way to hold the trophy at the end of the season. We can’t win on paper.
  2. I think it’s awesome to have a consistently competitive ballclub that always gives us something to play for in September, usually in October, and gives us many fun regular season moments along the way. I think that absolutely has value, I think the experience, the journey, has value. I also can sympathize with those who won’t be satisfied until the ultimate goal of a World Series is achieved, who feel the massive disappointment of heartbreaking postseason exits like last year, and want so badly for the team to take the big step into the limelight and no longer have a stigma attached to the Brewer name of being the team with great regular seasons who can’t get it done in October. I won’t invalidate either of those viewpoints and I don’t think that either needs to be wrong for the other to be right.
  3. I think this is a good thing. We wouldn’t have a chance against the Dodgers and Phillies of the world if it weren’t for randomness/luck. Especially with the injuries piling up. Hopefully the luck will swing in our favor for a change.
  4. You’re a Cubs fan. Also, a “taco organization” derives from a show called “The League,” where the character Taco cluelessly runs his fantasy football team, and a taco organization refers to a poorly run, disorganized, chaotic sports organization. Bizarre race card drop, though.
  5. Well, doesn’t look like we’re going to lock up the 1 tonight. Phillies breaking it open.
  6. Don’t look now, but Danny Jansen has been pretty good lately.
  7. Wahh, wahh, wahhh Fermin. It was a strike.
  8. Not very many great RH options in this pen without Megill. Mears needs a strikeout in the worst way.
  9. If you were going to bring in Ashby anyway why would you wait until AFTER Merrill? Just makes no sense.
  10. Joey isn’t the only guy who is having trouble hitting right now but I’m not going to shed a tear that he’s not in the lineup for a day.
  11. I’ve been about the biggest critic of Bauers on the board but who else is hitting right now? The offense isn’t clicking at all and no one else is really even making much of a case for regular ABs.
  12. 0 for 4 with RISP already. Just another day at the office for the Brewer offense.
  13. When they moved Logan to the 60 I assumed he was done for the season. I even thought they reported it that way. I am not sure if they just really needed the spot on the 40 or what the deal is. Either way, they can probably just DFA Zimmerman if they need the spot again for Logan. Or put Woodruff on the 60 if he has to be shut down, which hopefully won’t happen.
  14. There have definitely been more painful ones. At least this was only a regular season game that could ultimately be meaningless. I guess I mean worst as the most inexplicable loss ever as to how we managed to lose that game that we had no business losing against a team that was not going to generate 13 points in 4 minutes on their own without some serious help.
  15. Oh, I don’t think they’d mind. I think especially with the Uek passing, a Brewer World Series is a good story and interesting to most of the country. Anyway, while it’s true that ESPN clearly caters to the East and West coast markets, I don’t buy much into conspiracy theories when it comes to baseball. Unlike football or basketball where a lot of subjectivity is involved, baseball is pretty black and white. Not a lot of opportunity for outside influences to change the game, except when it comes to the strike zone. And there’s so much data tracking on that these days that it’d be pretty obvious if one team was continuously getting the shaft.
  16. Quite the stinker. At least we won’t need anyone to pitch the 9th.
  17. I’m really glad it was all much ado over nothing. It does happen, though. Just this season, Tiger fans and Met fans have seen it happen to their teams in real time.
  18. That AB sucked. The last one I thought was a step in the right direction so I was disappointed to see him follow it up with this. You’re right, he has to get it going.
  19. Not Brewer related, but the Tigers have blown EIGHT games in the division in their last TEN overall. The Guardians officially took over the lead tonight. I wonder how many of their fans assured one another that the division was over 2 weeks ago.
  20. I think both the Brewers and Phillies are probably just trying to get through 162 and let the chips fall where they may. Not that it was ever that important to me, but the loss tonight will take the 100 win season off the table.
  21. Magic number down to 2! I know it doesn’t feel like it, but this was equally as helpful as a Brewer win tonight. Nice unexpected surprise in a game that they looked destined to lose. Takes some sting off this stinker in San Diego.
  22. So basically 2 weeks before September. Again, would you rather be hot, of course, but I don’t think the last 6 weeks is a bigger correlation of playoff performance than the overall body of work.
  23. Marlins sticking with Josh Simpson in the 11th who is arguably the worst pitcher in baseball. Should be fun.
