    I actually really didn’t hate it, Sprout has almost inevitably fallen apart late if you keep riding him, he gave you 6, let him actually leave this one feeling good and build confidence for the next one. Patrick has been amazing all season so I can’t fault the move. He obviously did not come close to getting the job done. More critically, our offense had numerous opportunities with runners on tonight to break this game open and repeatedly did not get the job done.

    And this is what happens when you piss away opportunities left and right all night, all of the sudden you’re in a game.

    People don’t want to hear this, and he’s had a great season so far, but Bauers is by FAR the biggest regression candidate on the team.

    Good job getting out of it, but that was Strike 5. Folks, this is why we have ABS. Because it took one inning to see how bad MLB umpires are when left to make the calls themselves with no checks and balances.

    Kurtz has had 4 strikes this inning and the count is 2-2. This is freaking ridiculous.

    Yup, I guess I’m glad he made him work (as much as I’m glad to see one of the worst pitchers in baseball chased from a game), but my expectations for the end result were always the same.
