  1. The Pirates average about 0.14 runs per Skenes start seemingly, so this might be over already.
  2. Counting on Nick Chubb as your RB1 even with Nixon out is crazy. He is so washed.
  3. I’m not stressing about it at all. I have been saying for weeks that the 1 would be nice, but the difference between 2 and 3 is massive compared to 1 and 2. Bypassing the WC round is the important thing. Especially if we are still scuffling toward the end of the season to get that rest and reset. You’d like to have a potential Game 7 of the NLCS to be in Milwaukee instead of Philly, but there’s about 20 other things that have a bigger chance of deciding the series. Could draw the Mets as a 2 seed in the NLDS and I’d love another shot at them. I will say, I am not sure why you would say it’s largely assumed that the NLCS would be 1 versus 2. That’s almost NEVER the case. I don’t think it has been the case since 2018 and not once since MLB expanded to 6 playoff teams.
  4. Maybe. If there’s a series left in the season, then a 2 game lead is obviously hugely significant. With 2 weeks left, I really don’t think it amounts to much. So yes I hope we can take care of business against the Angels and perhaps the Dodgers can take 2 out of 3 against Philly because even gaining a game in the next series would be very big.
  5. I’m just not really that impressed with JJ McCarthy. I get that he’s super young and all that and probably not a finished product. I dunno. I just don’t really see what made the Vikings so confident to go with him as their Plan A this season.
  6. Well again that’s why it comes down to whether they continue to do what they’ve been doing. I think everyone understands the shrinking margin for error as the games become fewer. They’ve lost 3 games in September. If they lose 3 more that’s probably going to be good enough.
  7. They are not Juiy hot right now but they’ve won 2 out of their last 3 series and 3 out of their last 5 so saying they basically need a miracle to win a series might just be a tad on the embellishing side at the moment.
  8. I definitely don’t think Philly is running out of time. The lead went from 5.5 to 2 in a matter of 6 days. 2 weeks is nothing to erase 2 games. It’s just a matter of whether they can keep up the momentum they’ve had in September because they do have a tough west coast trip coming up.
  9. I guess. There’s nothing guaranteeing that we’re going to be able to just flip a switch in a couple weeks.
  10. Disappointing loss any way you slice it. Had numerous opportunities and couldn’t capitalize. Gave the game back that we got on the Cubs yesterday and finally had a chance to build some breathing room between us and Philly and could not do it. While they’re not in a terrible way or anything, they just can’t really seem to start building any momentum again.
  11. Vaughn came in and did his job today. Would be a really nice time for one of those Brice big flys.
  12. Phillies finally drop a game. Would be really, really nice to come out of this with a W.
  13. Mikolas has a 10-7 record with a 3.82 ERA against the Brewers in 20 starts. Definitely solid, but about what you’d expect.
  14. I wonder what the moment was for most Bears today that the realization sunk in that they’re going to suck again.
  15. Cubs were threatening big against Houser, but a double play by Castro snuffs that out. I can’t stress enough how bad he has been for the Cubs since they acquired him.
  16. I’m fine. Priester should be good. Peralta should be good. Woodruff should be good. There will be more days off, so it’s a little different animal and they can afford to have quick hooks if things start going south.
  17. Vaughn is .364/.417/.455 in his last 7 games, so it’s not like he’s been scuffling. Unlike Bauers, Vaughn has shown long-term stretches of being capable of carrying this offense when he’s on.
  18. When Yelich isn’t on, he has some of the worst looking ABs on the team. I just don’t understand it. Guy has been around forever.
  19. Haase isn’t doing crap and that’s in Nashville. Just bring up the #62 prospect in baseball who happens to be a catcher in AAA in our system.
  20. Man we just do not make anything look easy in the last month. I echo that Quintana shouldn’t be getting the ball much in the playoffs.
